I like all these ladies. Although I do not personally know any celebrities, I have known quite a few actors. I have to say the majority of them are pretty smart. Especially comedians who often can switch back and forth from drama to comedy. There are notable exceptions that aren't the brightest or sanest people, but many are very intelligent. I applaud Ms Lamar for her inventions and her patients in not being as lauded for them as she should.

Hedy Lamarr is one of my female heroes. Rear Admiral Grace Hopper is another. Your telling of Hedy's invention story is wrong, though. The US Navy heard her pitch, didn't recognize its value, and rejected it. She let her patent lapse later, and the US military jumped in and used her ideas, but she never got a dime. I wish a president had given her a Presidential Medal of Freedom for it.

Hey lamarr was the only one of these ladies who proved to have a very iq. She was an accomplished inventor in military science,so she proved to be a very clever person. Iq is mainly about problem solving such as maths,electrical engineering. I would put lamarrs iq in the 160 + range.

I must say I did know a lot of the stories about how many of the bombshells (I won't say blonde, as some weren't blonde) had secretly high IQ's. I knew about Hedy Lamarr's inventions long ago, and was impressed to say the least. But the one I didn't know about was Judy Holliday. I find this the most interesting story besides Lamarr's, as putting on a ditzy voice to throw off American senators to be deliciously manipulative, and doing it for good purposes just puts the icing on the cake!

I had a source tell me that Jayne had an IQ certificate from her college (or maybe high school days) she'd keep in her scrapbook. She never faltered on her "certified genius" level, though if she had tested again, she likely wouldn't get the same score. That's why I call BS on her IQ claim. The source also said her 5 languages proficiency was overstated: She could speak English of course, her German was passing conversational, she took Spanish in high school but didn't speak it after she graduated, her Hungarian was rudimentary, and she could understand Italian well but couldn't speak it well. The other claim to fame was that she was a concert musician, which, any actual musician that has seen her play will tell you she certainly was not. But the video is correct: she was a savvy promoter and certainly was raking in the cash. But her true dreaming of being a dramatic movie star was never to be.

The baloney story that Marilyn Monroe was really very smart falls apart when you realize that Billy Wilder decided that when filming Some Like It Hot they would print the take when Marilyn got the line right. This was confirmed by Tony Curtis. There are a number of publicity photos of Marilyn studiously reading a book during her down time. One of them had her holding the book upside down. I guess her more of an interesting character when the publicity people ran out of ideas.
