Came over from Sarah's channel. You are a girl after my own heart. I love the simplicity of your holiday decor. I always seem to have toddlers around too with nine grandchildren. I want them to remember grandma's house during the holidays so I try to keep it simple but beautiful. One of my grandsons that lives with us part time (he is 5) always thanks me for putting things out for different seasons. He melts my heart.

I absolutely love all the greenery and velvet floppy red bows with the fairy lights. I’m a minimalist and only bring out a few quality items like a Nativity Scene, porcelain Angels and Santas, snow globes, ceramic Christmas trees, and some beautiful textiles. You should frost white paint coat, use chippy brush or fan dry brush, technique. The pine cones.

That is what I’m doing I’m doing my nutcracker display in the entry way foyer / the manual with two stocking, I’m putting up the pencil tree with no ornaments just the lights. I lost my mama and my kids are grown and will not be visiting me this year. Therefore I’m going super simple. We will be traveling to Austin TX for a week. Very different for me 🙋🏻‍♀️

@@KrystaMeeker oh honey love is coming right back at you. I can not tell you how many times I go to call her I am still having a hard time and as you mentioned it will never be the same. She was my best friend and the glue that kept us all together. It just sucks it really does. I can empathize with you on loosing your mama and not really feeling motivated, I’m so sorry, your much younger than I am. They say god can not give us more than we can handle but for me it has been devastating. Thank you for your beautiful heart felt message. God Bless you and your family, may he give you that strength sweetie. Have the best Holiday you can and know that, the grieving will take who knows how long and THATS OKAY. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m so very sorry!! I know those feelings so well. My mom was my best friend also, she was my person and enduring the loss of her has been much more difficult because the one person I want to confide in during such a difficult time is her. I imagine you know exactly what I mean, and I’m so sorry you do. My mom was only 54 when she passed, just far too young but I hear it never feels like enough time no matter how long you have with them. I hope you find comfort in your memories with her and knowing she’s never far. On a side note, Austin is a fun place so a change may be nice and I hope you find moments of joy within this difficult time. ❤️

I was a nurse that quit after Covid ( that was horrific) too. I’ll be here for you it’s good to talk to people that don’t know you that can be objective and that are feeling what your feeling. My heart is with you. If you ever need to talk or scream we can chat. Your a doll, I’m so sorry hon. Your right it’s never enough time with them

@@susanvelez6534 thank you for your kindness! It’s nice just to connect with others who are walking the grief path, it sure isn’t easy but we’re not alone. It is horrific, I know because I saw it first hand as that’s what my mom passed from and I spent a lot of time for weeks in that unit of the hospital with her. She had other factors that contributed and really created a perfect storm. I’m very fortunate to have my aunt (her sister) who was also incredibly close with her to walk through a lot of these tough moments with. My heart goes out to you also this season, dear friend! ❤️

Hi Kristen ~ I’m coming over from Sarah’s channel and what a treat this is ! This is lovely. I agree with investing in good garland and greenery that will last for years. I have done that for over 40 years! Then when I want a change after 6-8 years give it to someone else. But now that our daughters are grown with families and houses of their own, I pass it on them! Which I love doing and seeing our daughters get excited and use it in their homes. So it is worth the money spent ! We actually have a “granddaughter” getting married next year and they have bought a home and renovating, so she is excited to shop at grandma’s and place it in storage! Yup…I’m old ! Truly love the simplicity of how you have decorated. I feel it is a rich, elegant and classic feel. Love it ! Happy Thanksgiving! Can’t wait to see more from you !
