Is this backing track yours or it could be found anywhere for practicing?
@KenMiddletonUkulele3 жыл бұрын
It isn't a backing track. It is my recording.

This arrangement and recording is really cool 😊🎶✌🏻 What software/app do you use to record and mix? Thanks!
@KenMiddletonUkulele3 жыл бұрын
I use only Log Pro. It works very well for me. However, I started with Cubase in 1990, when it was a very simple application. Cubase would be fine as an alternative. You could even use Garage Band, if you have a Mac. It does not need to be complex software to do something like this. I like to have decent audio so I use good quality mics.

@@KenMiddletonUkulele thanks Ken. That helps! I am working on the Cowboy Junkies arrangement of Sweet Jane, and want to record and mix uke, ubass and cajon.

@@rydenbrook My advice would be to get your tempo right first. You can take it slower than the original, but not faster (usually). Set your tempo for the click track. Although it might seem obvious to record the ukulele first, it might be best to record the cahon first. Get this right and, if necessary, make edits to correct the timing. Remember, you can't just quantise it. You can then use this as well as the click track to record the bass part. Bass should be easy as it so often lands on the main beats. Then you should be able to lay down the uke part(s). It is not too important which audio interface you use. They are all pretty good. I use the UA Apollo X4 which is fantastic, but overkill most of the time. A good mic (or pair) is what you might consider for your next purchase. Get back to if you want suggestions. Hope this helps.

Personally, I found the accompaniment distracting. I'd love to hear you redo it with just the ukulele.

The ukulele part is exactly the same as the arrangement I have made. It is freely available on my website. Shortly I shall be posting a detailed tutorial on how to play it. No backing instruments at all - just ukulele.
