Sometimes traffic police do not allow the direct Khandala exit, instead you gotta take the part of the expressway road and then come out at Lonavala exit

Yes, If you are travelling via old Highway in a car or a bike this is the only patch of Expressway where bikes are allowed (even cars have to travel on this patch of Expressway) and this is a legal route you mentioned.
