First time I seen a Gixxer 750 was in 1988 my buddy Roy owned it fastest Bike on the street beat the Hurricane 1000cc ...2000 I bought my Gixxer brand new still have it bike is MINT and fast Full Race Fit Exhaust and Nitron Shock ...5 stars proper bike ...

I thought about doing that just for easier tyre fitment, but then found a set of 18 inch period Dymags that all the racers used back in the day, plus, that most tyre companies now make good sticky rubber in original sizes due to the popularity of Post Classic, and Forgotten Era race series that are held now.
