We need more mental health care Closing psychiatric hospitals in this state has been occurring a long time The state did a dishonor by not developing proper mental health care & they closed & abandoned the facility creating a hazardous eyesore to the town

Illinois is the most irresponsible state in the union, this place shouldn’t have never been closed.

The entire country is in desperate need of long term residential psychiatric care facilities. Right now, jails and prisons become the defacto "treatment" facilities, where, obviously, people in dire need of residential psychiatric treatment decompensate horribly, and only get worse and worse. After watching this practice go on for decades, the only logical conclusion to draw is that this isn't accidental, this is by design. It is nothing less than a system of euthanasia by neglect for our countries chronically mentality ill. I pray that the people responsible for such policies will one day have to go before the ultimate authority and answer for their deeds.
