We recently lumbered a 36" maple, a 36" white ash, and a 32" pecan. After drying, we tried planing with a Rigid (Home Depot) 13" planer with 2 HSS knives kzbin.infoUgkxIzvvTi3_Qc8JnVdYYRJCvuoDC4QjTzeL . This job was clearly too much for that machine. The pecan was particularly difficult, due to heavy mineral deposits, and a sharp pair of HSS knives would be consumed by a mere 3 boards. We were also having lots of problems from chip bruising, due to poor dust collection. The shavings came off like straw and jammed in the 4" hose.We bought the DW735 simply to be able to run carbide blades, which worked brilliantly for the pecan. However, we found it to be a much, MUCH nicer machine. It was far more rigid than the "Rigid" planer, and far more accurate as well. But what I liked most about it was the dust feed. This machine has its own blower, which shreds the "straw" like shavings as they come off the cutting head and helps boost the shavings into the dust collection system. No more clogs! It's also nicely sealed so that the internals stay quite clean. This is just a well tempered machine that's a delight to use. It literally cut the labor in half. Just another example of getting what you pay for.

He’s not going to rewind that motor. Only Mr Electricity rewinds motors. And he’s in, like, Samoa or the Philippines or somewhere. Respect, young man. You are the real deal.

Extraordinary work! I was very impressed with the level of care and attention to detail shown in this project. I don’t recall anyone taking the windings apart and repairing and replacing the leads as done here. Even the way the foot was leveled and squared up was well done. I also don’t recall anyone else using caster glue either. Truly a master craftsman!

I love that you took the effort to rebuild the Staetor on the engine, and everything. It's so uncommon to see old motors refurbished down to this level of completeness! I was half expecting you to soak the coils in something like Vinegar to polish them up just a little.

Excellent. But, just my personal taste, I would have liked to have seen it refinished in the current Makita blue. But I nitpick. Amazing job!!!

Your work is superb. I would like to see a change in the WORKING TABLE if it is possible with you. Something like plain WHITE ply or something PLAIN SMOOTH WITHOUT spaces (i really don't know the types but just a suggestion, something like that). It will keep FOCUS on the parts, BRiGHTEN your work place, and easier to CLEAN. You are brilliant and may God bless your hands.

I can't believe they let those wires come like that from the factory. That's mind blowing. Although it's old-school and well made and metal. The amount of effort you went through to fix that is unbelievable. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 well done buddy.

Pretty integrate refurbishing effort I'd say. But nice work and outcome. I was really surprised the armature contacts could be cut that deep and still have connections to the windings. Color and labels were not the best. But the final results made up for them. Thumbs Up!

Nice job, if you can then for the next time use some prominent color like a red, bleu, black, oranje. Never use metal or earthy/ pastel tints, make it stand out, especially with a sanded down metal foot as contrast. Also whenever sanding for a flat service my tip is to glue the sandpaper on a piece of glass window since it’s so flat.
