When we got our A level results, I and the other now ex-students (18 or older, at least) went for drinks and celebration at the Old Swan Inn. The Blue Anchor is also pretty close by, too.

The Red Lion in Penderyn isnt mentioned anywhere great food, great location. It is the same age as the old House 1147 in llangwnwyd, near Maesteg.

Many years ago on a visit to my relatives in Abergavenny & Cwm, we all went out to lunch at the Skirrid and heard the stories of Judge Jeffries (the Hanging Judge) and saw the worn wood where the rope was used for the hangings, tough times eh?! Cheers from South Australia.

. . . das würde ich sehr gerne machen, aber im Moment sieht es leider nicht danach aus. In den vergangenen zwei Jahren haben wir wegen der Pandemie keine Reisen unternommen. Wir sind auch nicht mehr die Jüngsten !! In den vielen Urlauben in England, Wales, Irland und Schottland haben wir viel Bildmaterial angesammelt, das uns nun bei der Betrachtung immer wieder viel Freude machen. Aber auch etwas Wehmut ist dabei . . . Dennoch hoffen wir, nochmals den Kontinent Richtung UK zu verlassen. Das teile ich dir dann mit und werden sicherlich die Gelegenheit finden, zusammen einen Pub zu besuchen !!!! Übrigens: dein Deutsch ist perfekt! Liebe Grüße aus Düsseldorf, Konrad.
