Thanks for the video! Great info shared about the various 45 labels. - In 1963, Keith Richards changed his name to Keith Richard as a tribute to Little Richard. He later went back to the original, Richards.

Hello- I have very much enjoyed your videos on the joys of collecting 45s. There are not a lot of YT videos on 45 collecting. It's my belief that the 45 RPM records gets nowhere near the respect it deserves-always overshadowed by the 33 RPM-Album. My first 45s were gifts from family in the early 1960s as I was just a small child, and they have fascinated me ever since. Today, I have an extensive collection of more than 12K 45s- nearly all originals, mostly all in original sleeves. I have thousands of promos and rare 45s, most in EX to NM condition. Having bought, sold and even donated thousands of records over decades now, I must say that IMHO the condition of the 45s you showed on this video are nearly all G except for a couple. Realistically these have very little value, certainly nowhere near the Discogs median price. As you are aware, condition, rarity and demand are what drives value for any record-condition especially. The 45s you showed are very beat up, dirty and worn and have little value. The label condition also comes into play. Lots of wear, stickers, damage all reduce value. I would not purchase records in such poor condition-but to each his own. If I found VJ 498 in that condition I would buy it, but that would be the exception to the rule due to rarity and demand for that single. Sorry, I don't mean to be a "Debbie Downer" here. Likewise the long comment. I do enjoy your videos, and applaud them, but felt the need to post about the condition of the records you showcased.

Actually this is music to my ears and I agree with all of what you are saying. What I like to tell people is not to be afraid to buy a “place holder” copy …. Ya, it’s only in good condition, but, ur gonna replace it w a good plus!!!! lol and so on, and so forth 🤘👍🏻😎 Rock On DB

cool tips on 45s. In the 90s I would find 45s at yard sale. I would find old obscure songs and make mixtape from them! Thumbs up! Trish

Enjoyed that. Don't forget the jazz on Vee-Jay -- you got killers like Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Kelly, Louis Hayes, Paul Chambers, Art Blakey, just incredible

Re: The Stones "Time Is On My Side"- I'm thinking they must have heard Irma Thomas covering it first, although her version also came out in '64... kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5SynpaErNajqKM

Great job scuffing and scratching up the sleeve-less 45s you didn’t want.

If you're looking for rare records, you should have picked up that Galaxy at 5:40 depending on what was on it. I know that label has rare, and at times very valuable, funk and soul. Typically when I go digging for 45s, I avoid big name bands because those were huge hits and they're all over the place. It's more fun for me finding obscurities and the band that never made it but still put out on killer 45. Learning local labels and avoiding major labels has been pretty fruitful for me.
