Thank you for taking the time for making this video. I am in Mexico and I have a cement drain clogged up and I am about to break the bathroom and bedroom floor to unclog the cement drain. The plumbers here have not been able to unclog it so last night they said to break all floors to replace the cement drain so they can replace it with PVC. I have ran out of options. Anyway, Gracias from Mexico.

@Sancho Pansa You won't believe what I did!!! The plumber wanted to rip the floors, right? He swore the pipes were clogged, it was going to cost me close to $ 3K. So I removed my security camera from my roof and taped it around my snake wire and pushed it all 8 meters and I saw that it wasn't clogged. He couldn't believe I thought about how to do it overnight. It saved me thousands. I glued the new pvc pipes myself and I put the new tile also. I'm tired of being overcharged and taken for stupid. I did all that by seeing KZbin! Cheers with Tequila

I have the same problem with a kitchen drain. My pipe was bad to the floor that it had a quarter inch opening in middle of pipe to drain. The pipe was so rotted it broke at floor level. Now, I will snake it several time to see if I can stop water from backing up from under slab. If that doesn't work, video to see the problem and then the dreaded jack hammer. I am still able to use the sink since I routed a flex line from the PVC work I did for the sink to a toilet drain across the unfinished basement and have had no problems till I get this mess taken care of. :)

I have a question. While you were replacing pipe, is there a reason you wouldn't have added extra pipe,etc. for the washing machine to pump out of? Or was it the washing machine was just moved from the somewhere else for you to test out the drain? Are there other codes and considerations you would have had to of made at that point? Just curious.
@stevenlavimoniere8 жыл бұрын
if you dump into sink you can catch the link from drain in a pantywhole added to the drain hose . and change it every 6 months it will catch the lint from going down the drain .

That’s another trap, trap arm and another vent branch plus he’s only got so much space to work with above the spill line of the laundry tub, where the washer can waste indirectly into the tub no problem, if I caught someone running a standpipe in line to kick the sink out three inches forward re work all that water and have their vents tie in above the spill line I’d kick them in the flipping teeth usually you use a standpipe when a washer is in a finished space, the shit stink basement can kick the shit trash wherefucking ever, good enough for this neighborhood

Could you add the washer drain pipe to the drain instead of the sink? And how do u know which drain is the vent? I have pipes similar I want to replace. Thanks for the vids!
@Scott-eo7lj5 жыл бұрын
If your house was plumbed correctly your vents never run horizontal until they are above flood level for the floor you're on. Flood level is the highest point at which water will overflow out of a fixture so the height of your sink usually is flood level so you can't run them horizontal until 48" above finished floor. You can also tell because they don't catch any water so they won't be connected to any fixture. Yes you can cut into a 2" drain and add a 2" ptrap to catch your washing machine discharge but make sure the 2" isn't too far from a 3" stack. Washing machines dump a lot of water so you can't depend on a 2" pipe to take all of the discharge.
@alanyoder7629 Жыл бұрын
I’m curious as to why you didn’t pull the sink and install a standpipe to drain the washer. I had a washer drain into a sink like this but changed it to a standpipe with a trap and the washer drains much better.
