Tonka toys were what most of us played with back in the day (early 70's), because they were built tough, rugged, and made to last! Always enjoy the detailed work and the final touches of said detail with the sticker placements at the end! Another great job, keep 'em coming, and as always thanks for sharing your work!

When I see you lavishing such love and care to restore these old toys, I sometimes think of the hours of happiness spent by some little boy or girl playing with them. Perhaps a series of little boys and girls over the decades. And that a part of those children somehow lingers in these inanimate objects. An echo of someone's childhood joy and imagination burnished in that old metal, plastic and rubber. I choose to believe that in the hereafter, those same children who touched and loved these toys will somehow be connected to your efforts and come to know what you've done.

@:020 That is the logo for United States Steel. The Pittsburgh Steelers adopted it. The only difference between them is one says "Steel" and the other "Steelers".
@richardbonner235419 күн бұрын
Right on, Shawn ; That's the corporate logo for US Steel. The Steel Workers from the Steel City o' Pittsburgh made LOTs o' steel for stuff... includin' the steel used to make this and millions o' other Tonka Toy trucks. ReBuilt and ReStored, This is anOther One o' the relics from days gone by... that You've -- by God! -- reDEEMed. It's a lil' wee bit like those "... glorified bodies..." spoken of in The Good Book... ; on outward appearance, looks more wonderFul than the 'Original'. Great (Light!) Work, Friend..., as per... Your 'usual' Work. 🙂 Rick Bonner Pennsyltuck Pos' Scrip': I Love the lil' "tips" You demonstrate..., like placing a decal -- preCISEly! -- with the point of a razor before attaching it, and 'protecting' the jaggedy end of a pair o' needle-nose with some soft tape before twistin' an' crimpin' / crampin' / burnishin' the painted steel tabs. You've learned a lot... and a Lot o' Us are pickin' up on Yer "mastery". Thanks.

@RebuiltRestored16 күн бұрын
The sandblaster is a Grizzly g0707. For my oven I use a small counter top style food oven. I also use a regular electric cooking oven if I need bigger. I would like to upgrade the oven to a modified smoking cabinet soon. I will say, I’m not very impressed with Harbor Freight powder coating system. It works but can be extremely annoying. I would like to upgrade this soon as well.
