Just bought this model, it's my first model in over 25 years. The last one I built was the pink panther land rover when I was 17. I'm in my 40s now and I'm taking up modelling again 👍

Same here, about half way through the build on this one, just got back into modeling after not having built one since I was about 15-16 in high school. I'm now 46 :)

I've just bought this kit. I haven't built anything for decades now, and this kit was half the price of other 1/35 armoured models, so if I do screw it up it hasn't cost me much.

The old tamiya kits are a great starting point, mate. Good quality and inexpensive. Their new kits are even better but with a higher price tag, obviously.

That is a great kit for the price

Great review, Andrew. I finally built that kit myslef a few years ago. It was a great kit and was my first ever kit painted in panzer grey. And road wheels... panzer road wheel seams are grueling. I saw photo evidence recently of the seam that runs the circumfrence of panzer tires and wonder how long it took to wear down? No telling I guess. Great build though... and great job on the video.

Thanks mate. It will be one of my first panzer grey kits as well. Really looking forward to having a play with colour modulation. Good question regarding the road wheels. I don't imagine it would take very long considering the weight they carry.

🚲 While it's certainly a classic kit and I'm especially fond of it, it's not a great kit, and never was. Not to wipe 💄off a 🐷, but it's the tank that looks so handsome, not the model kit. The tires are unacceptably thin, there's a gap where the glacis meets the hull. It's a trench and the two pieces don't come together completely. Big square holes on the hull sides for batteries. Late style tracks too wide with cleats you can't sand off. Some would say it was great for the 70's, but actually 🏆 Italeri's was around and it was the finest PzIV model until the late 80's.

Haha thanks mate. I appreciate the confirmation. After having to send items to addresses in Wales I will never complain about long German words again. I can't make heads or tails of Welsh, at least with German I can usually understand what the words mean lol.
