I first built this kit in 1979 it was one of the best Tamiya kits at the time and it made into a very nice model .

Those old Tamiya kits still hold their own. Built plenty of those back in the old days! Seeing the inside with the spots for batteries and switches almost makes me want to build one of the motorized versions again! Looking forward to this build.

Yeah indeed especially the panzer 4 the cut out makes it look like a unhappy face from the bottom. 😀

That mark on top of the hull, i have exactly the same on mine, i even did some research if they maybe put it on purpose there, because it look like some kind of weld.

I think the Quickwheel masks are a must have (as I get older I get a little bit more lazy!)

If you have any spare wheels from a Dragon PzIV lying around use those. The Tamiya kit wheels are on the anorexic side. Have a close look at the box art too, there's detail there that's not depicted in the kit that can be easily recreated with some wire and/or plastic card. The kit also is an early/mid StugIV so technically should have zimmerit if you really wanted to be accurate. But if you want accuracy you'd buy the Dragon kit. If you want fun you buy the Tamiya kit 😁 Cheers

I am a little on the thickside and I am 40 🤣. Go on Andrew a little self deprecation didn't hurt anyone (else). I still haven't built a stug yet 🙄 But the thing with the classic range is the german stuff is all represented at a fair price, I just bought the Hanomag just so I can put it on robot legs £15 is fair especially if I am going to cut it up to do 1946+ Stuff. Maybe I will get a stug next time maybe the short barrel one as I like the look 👍🏻 Cya on the next one fella.

haha well if the shoe fits 🤣 It is a nice little kit. I love the older Tamiya stuff. As you said represented at a fair price. I would love to see how the hanomag comes out!

Sure I haven't started cutting plastic yet , but I drawn the design out, like yourself I am a bit of a dab hand with the graphite stick, well maybe not quite as good 👍🏻. Attempting to 3d print this one so it can be repeated easily, I bought a 3d printer in February the day it arrived my pc blew up 🤦🏼‍♂️ ... Have a new pc inbound so things can start moving again. Take it easy fella

I purchased mine from a company called BNA in Melbourne Australia. They ship overseas as well if you are not in Australia. I find a lot of aftermarket items from them.
