I had a great time helping him out getting corn picked. Thats a process that has always fascinated me. I hope I get to help again next year. Thanks for watching the video.

I've seen the New Idea Uni system But this completely new to me.This is why trucking companies used to love hiring farm boys, they're used to long hours working alone, and staying focused.

I have the same 2 row corn picker that you have to pull behind the tractor. Gotta love the old farm equipment.

Nice video :) local farmer up the road used to plant corn on my field we was gone when he came to pick it and his little 1 row picker caught corn field on fire, not sure what happened as I was out of state but he lost half the field. thankful for local volunteer fire department (mostly farmers) came and put it out

Good stuff Matt. I would be willing to say that if that equipment were made today, it wouldnt last 10 years. Things were just built better back then. Love watching corn being picked. Take care👍

I enjoy watching that old equipment work. I went to a farm festival a month ago and a friend of mine picked corn with a one row picker behind his John Deere B.

Dad had 2 of those MH Pickers. I ran one of them when I was 9 years old. I thought I was king of the hill. It had a grease zerk on everything.

They were not very good in wet conditions. Would get stuck easily. Had push bars on back of the wagons so you could push it through the wet fields. We had Case tractor with Case o magic drive also WD Alis with the hand clutch which worked well also. Thanks for the Memories 😊😊😊 both good and bad

New Idea made a 3 row super picker too. Never seen one in person but there's one on KZbin. It's a huge compared to the JD. Those use a 2 or 3 row head on the same base unit.

Those old corn pickers were quite the machine. Up in our area, back when I was a little fella in the 60's, there were a lotta old farmers around missing one to four fingers, and I was always told they lost them in a corn picker. Not sure which part of the machine they were reaching in when it happened. I'm guesing the snapping rolls, or the husking bed.

I had trouble pushing the pin down on the variable speed which was also the clutch. Dad made a squeeze type lever that I could use it better. I picked and he hauled in.

That brought back great memories. We used to have a 2 row Minneapolis moline picker to put up corn in the crib .we pulled it with a 1971 case 570. Still have the tractor. Papa's tractor u know got to keep it. Anyway great video keep them coming!!

Those machines did the job when new, no reason why they will not work today. Change the oil and grease it and it will do the job year after year.

You need to put the side boards on the gravity flow wagon, I saw several cubs fly off the side as you were filming. It pull in the two roll new idea picker. I’m sure it’s the same for any picker you use so you need side boards to keep the corn in there or just don’t fill it is full.
