My first ever bike. Passed my test on it. 55 mph with a back wind and 130 to the gallon. When my sister let me ride her C90 it seemed like a rocket ship - 60 mph !

A C90 was my first bike when I was 17, 50 years later and 21 other bikes of all sizes I still have a C90 and a C70, I can honestly say even after 9 years as a bike courier riding all over the UK on an FJR1300 and BMW1150 I have more fun on the C90, in bad winter weather I'd even take it in the back of my VW Transporter the 150 miles to do the final drop in central London. Can't ever imagine not having one.

I had a brand new one in 1979 and I loved riding it, I wish I never sold it but had to raise money for my house, it was a blue and white C70 and cost £450 approximately and yes its annoying when people call them mopeds they are 4 stroke motorcycles
@christophepoteaux39325 жыл бұрын
I grew up in France in the early 1980s. This reminds me of my youth with my friends trying to outdo each other on the mopeds of the time: Peugeot 103, Motobecane 51 Super Black... adding special kits and exhaust to drain any possible hp out these things. Drag races and sometime dirt races on the backroads happened regularly, until everyone spread out, once the local police showed up to try to cease those illegally modified "beasts" . Lol. Good times!

I had one of those! Could get a little over 50 mph laying down on it! Lady pulled out in front of me.... smeared me and the bike. Pulled the front end out, and drove it to the Honda dealer, and bought a twin star... still had a cast on my arm, and drove it home! Good times!

B-day and I 'beat hell' out of it for the next 3-years with ZERO maintenance...no oil-change...NOTHING but gas* ( *I knew nothing of 'taking-care of your stuff' then* ) *That Honda was $300 w/tax & license from 'Scootersville Honda' in Las Vegas and it still ran fine when I sold it for $200 3-yrs. later when I got a 'hand-me-down' '64 Ford 'Country Squire' Wagon which I also 'beat hell out of....that '390' finally caught fire under the hood from driving to work at a '100' from Vegas to Boulder City after I parked because I took the air-filter out and the engine was hot and fuel percolated in the carb and ignited all by itself once the vapor touched something like the header-exhaust* ( *That 'wagon' would easily sell for $10,000 now!* *They are 'rare' for some reason* )

Got it from the old lady down the road, eh? Sounds like a car my mom bought years ago, a '61 Olds F85, had a 215 V8 in it; when we got it -- from the proverbial little old lady who literally only drove it to church and the grocery store, each no more than half a mile away -- it just would not go faster than 25. I changed the plugs one day, in '72, they were original parts. Eventually it cleared out and moved pretty good. Suspension on that C70 was probably crap right out of the box, considering state of the art of the time. That top speed run was hilarious!
