This is one of my very favorite cakes. My aunt used to make them all the time and she gave me the recipe and taught me how. She passed last year at the age of 83. She was "famous" in our family for her homemade biscuits and this cake. I could just sit and eat that pineapple icing with a spoon it's so good. I bet it would be good as an ice cream topping too. I'll be making this cake this weekend. Thanks for sharing! 🌹

I made this yesterday and it is beyond words! The only differences are that I made half a recipe because I only wanted one cake layer since my kids dont really eat it. I also added butter flavoring as well as vanilla to the cake batter. I replaced the white sugar with brown sugar in the pineapple filling. It is absolutely exquisite. It really made my day! This is now a staple in my cooking arsenal. Thanks for sharing!

Mine did too. I really miss this pineapple cake and mom's home made banana pudding, cooked on the stovetop and she lined a large bowl with vanilla wafers and added the pudding with layers of vanilla wafers all the way to the top! Ahhh the good old days!🥰

Thank you for this recipe! My dad made this cake so many times when I was a kid I got burned out on it, but now at 66 years old I’m wanting it to honor him. I could only find recipes with powdered sugar and I remember my dad used regular sugar and heated the sugar and pineapples and juice. Thank you again!!
