You have brought back memories of 4 years in Dartmoor prison. Working through the wings, going gym/work every day as long as POA didn't lock the jail down. But full of monsters now. E WING was our wing good officers who never let them on it. I used to hate the 3 month induction you had to do that was painful.

@Paul Blackman Maybe you should do a podcast about you side of things. You could moan about how much you hate your job, criminals and people trying to share their experiences of it. You could moan everyday if you wanted to and start to build a following of people the same as you. I imagine people will comment and say that you need to cheer up and move on with your life, but you stick with it Paul.

Tavy@ thancks william that was a great upload there. Especialy the bit about shutting your own door at lock up time. It does make a diffrence and a good bit, although people who havent been in jail will thinck were just mad. But when i first went into jail and at lock up when the screw shut my door that first night i really did feel like i was now the idiot, he didnt slam it shut as in a bad way he just pulled it over and said "are yous ok boys thats dubb up, lights will go out in another 15 minutes boys ok" as it was around 9.15pm and it went out exactly on 9.30pm every night not a minute late or early. An hour before it we were looking out our cell window wich was quite big and these cons were playing 5 a sides on the astro turf park with flood lights on and as it wasnt a big jail with just one hall and another smaller hall but with only 2 flats and not the usual 4. Ground flat then one above it. I asked my cell mate "is that the other hall playing five a sides" and he said "aye thats the beasts playing over there, thats the protection hall there out nearly every night while were locked up 23 hours a day in this hall except for recration twice a week for 2 hours after 6.30pm till 8.30pm monday and wednesday unless yer working" i couldnt fcking believe it as i watched in shock with ma cell mate looking over now and again. He said "a thinck there meant to get an hour the same as us but av saw them an hour and a half at times, its bad int mate" A said "aye its bad" ma cell mate said " Just ignore them then ye forgett there out there theres at least 2 fences about 30 feet high with cameras every where that separate them and us" a said "aye a can see them"

In the old jails that were built in 1880 and still get used today. People forgett the cells were alot smaller, as in 5 feet wide and 9 feet long and 7 feet high with just a pish pot. Built for one man then they had to put bunk beds in becouse of over crowding. Now a jail cell is about 10 feet wide and more, and 13 feet long, and about 10 feet high, with sinks, there own shower, and toiletes, just like supportive accomidation. And like a fancy dear health farm as a whole. With everything they want and need, and for some its not enough. A suppose it depends on what problems you have got and always will have. Theres the ones that break the law through an act of passion, in the uk its called jealousy. And the man or woman gets 8 year they can learn from that and move on, then ye have people who have drinck and drug problems and break the law, but they will always have that addiction inside them no matter what they do, so they face a daily battle every day till they die and some just dont get any help or support. I went to a work capability assesment and the assesor who failed me as ignorant as she could and told 30 pages of lies told me to get a new gp becouse she said shes not helping you. I didnt know what to say.

Again, thanks for the upload! Really interesting! I've never been in prison, but came close to it last year, came close to getting banged up for possession of an illegal unlicensed firearm, a kilo of gunpowder and 4g of heroin. I was so lucky that the police are shite at doing bag searches as they didn't find anything, but I was shaking like a leaf and shitting myself, expecting to get sent down for about 15yrs. I honestly didn't think I'd survive in prison, so it's probably my luckiest day ever!

I have many. I would take back the pain I caused everyone around me. Victims, family the local community all suffered because of me. I also missed my Grandfather's funeral due to being in prison. I hadn't told them I was back inside again. When my uncle was calling around looking for me, Hmp Dartmoor was on his list of places to find me. There I was. A total fucking disgrace. What happens to physically disabled people? For example, someone in a wheelchair? Do they get put on the VP wing? That must be shit

Anyone bullies a disabled person they get dealt with either right away or eventually if they’re bringing something good onto the wing

@@PraiseTheLord847 Not just disabled people. Elderly, 18 year olds, sometimes but not always intellectually disabled people too, really just anyone that's clearly not on the same level. Give them shit or push them around a bit but straight up bullying the weak is seen as poor form. The situation changes if they're a child toucher or an officer's pet.
