i was brettonia in the FFA wanted to land with the hippos as bait since i had so much healing plus the MD buff from Louen, but the dawi cut off my halberds from surrounding your crushers and i couldn't pull out in time with the hippos. Joe Biden went dark brandon mode in that game.

Honestly if yor replace festus with foot archeon and depending on the matchup a nurgle shrine you get an almost unbeatable doomsquad. Sure its expensive and slow but in conquezt this seems just fine.

Regarding future Total War games, I'm of the opinion that after 40k the next best setting for a sandbox war game is the Silmarillion era of Tolkien's world.

How viable is quick battles for people who haven't touched MP? I know I'll get steamrolled, but will it almost always be by someone way, way better than me, or at least occasionally by someone that's just moderately better than me?

I think Domination is really nice entry into MP - where in Conquest/LB you can be easily tabled by skilled enemy, in Dom you will almost always score some points and hold making experience much better for new player.
