Hey Chef your grandmother would be so proud of you for recreating her recipe for the world to see. This is most definitely an old school recipe. As a child that’s what my mother cook for Christmas but she also put dressing inside the duck and the meal was cooked in one of those big blue roasting pan with a lid. Those were the days. Thanks for the memories🙂

Isn't that the truth!!! I miss my grandmother dressing! She always made a small pan...once done ..she always place small towel over it to cool down.but I never wanted for the cool down...I always love her dressing and she did not mind me eating it up..as long as I save her some🤗

This is what my Grandmother would use, a duck, she would take the juices and mix them in with the dressing, you talking about delicious, oh how I miss my Grandmother. Now my mom (her baby daughter) uses a duck and the juices in her dressing, that is what we had for Thanksgiving, the dressing reminded me of my Grandmother's, it was delicious. We will be having duck and dressing again for CHRISTmas, I can't wait, lol...

Amazing meal Chef Jeff! My grandma's sister used to cook this meal at Christmas. She added dried cranberries and oysters to the dressing. This was the second dish on the table to disappear after the country ham. Wonderful childhood memories.......

Chef, you bring back memories for me. I was home in Arkansas many years ago. My father’s cousin made Duck and Dressing in a large roasting pain for mother’s repass. On the saddest day of my life the taste of Duck and cornbread dressing is memorable among the saddest memories. As I look back today, I would say Duck and dressing will give you a foodgasms. Thank You for going thru all the steps in preparation for this tasty meal. I appreciate your efforts so, so much.

Chef Jeffrey, the roasted duck and cornbread dressing is old school. In the country we raise chickens and ducks. My mother would bake duck and cornbread dressing. 😋 #HelpSomebodyOldSchoolSoulFood2021 😋 The first time I tried to cook duck I boiled it first, only because growing up the next door neighbor cooked duck all of the time and she boiled her ducks to get some of the fat off. The second time I cooked duck I brine it and did not boil. That was the best, it was so good that I cut it in half so that my son would not eat it all before I had my share.
