Yeah man, I would've loved to take a closer look. I typically photograph these events for magazines (I shot for Hemmings at Moparty), so my time to do video stuff is limited. Otherwise I would've tried a little harder to track you guys down. Maybe sometime we can get together for a photo and video shoot to tell the whole story.

You’re 100 💯 correct on that 69 charger it’s like a JCwitley model car. That 70 6bbl roadrunner survivor was beautiful! And the next time you see that 1969 survivor Daytona talk to the owner his name is bob the nicest down to earth guy you’ll ever meet! That’s all sorry about the long commit! I don’t get out much lol

I owned the 1969 Barracuda shown at (2:22 - 3:12) from 1994 till around 2009. I got it from a friend Jerry Atanasio who was heavily into Mopars. I showed the car at the old Niagara Falls Convention center for the Niagara Drag Strip car show back in 1995. That is where and when the sticker was placed in the right side rear side window. The thing about the Black Ghost, out. Of respect for that guy dad. It was a legend to his best freind and even his kid. It was a cool story and it belonged to a great man. I think his kid stretched the truth too much and his dad , on his deathbed said don't let anything happen to my car.the dad just loved his challenger. He never bragged so his kids a p.o.s. and his grandson will never enjoy it and Uncle Tony's pretty disrespectful for ruining the guys legacy.
@HotRodHoarder10 ай бұрын
I can see both sides of it, because my dad is my hero and I want people to know how cool he is. But from a journalist's perspective, I don't like it when a story gets stretched out of proportion. I've been an automotive writer for the past 17 years, and a KZbin story teller for several years. It's always my priority to tell an accurate story.
@davida.p.9911 Жыл бұрын
The street racers here are getting out of hand, we've had several incidents and even some people injured here in Little Rock. You can drive down the city streets and see where they've been doing donuts. If you want to race, this is the place to do it.....not city streets. The Arkansas State Police have had their hands full chasing drivers down REGULARLY going over 150 down the interstate. Unfortunately there are no shows here and i think thats why they do it...but i could be wrong. Thanks for sharing!! And everybody stay safe!! 👍👍👍🛞💨
@HotRodHoarder Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've been hearing about these "takeovers" where people are doing donuts in intersections. Seems like an easy way to get hurt, based on the videos I've seen. Old school street racing had its dangers too, but at least the intention is to go straight and fast.

I'm glad I'm old enough to had the chance to own of these cars when they were still affordable for the ordinary people. It was a 1971 dodge demon 340 4 speed. The flipper and speculator have ruined the hobby for everyone. So if someone read this and happen to have a nice affordable hobby, please gatekeep it from trust fund babies. They ruin everything they touch.

Agreed...flippers have hurt the hobby a lot. The Mopar world really felt the effects of the Barrett-Jackson price inflation and it's still going on today.
