I agree, I’m oleased to have been a part of it to. It’s a shame the establishment shut so much of it down. I think the alcohol industry pushed the government to clamp down on it, as they wanted and continue to want people to waste money on their rubbish drinks!

This has to be one of my favourite Ratpack sets ever --- this and Fantazia Summertime 1992. The Ratpack really knew how to hype a crowd, and the DJ, Lipmaster Mark was a great mixer, and the MC, Everson Allen, knew have to really motivate a crowd. I have never seen The Ratpack live, but I'd love to have seen them back in the day. (I was only 10 years old when this was going on -- WAY to young to be able to get out and go to the raves,. I wish i was born about ten years younger, say in around 1970-ish, so I could have attended the rave scene right form the start, from the acid house days through to when the scene mutated into what I called "hardjungletechno" -- and then split into three separate genres: happy hardcore/jungle & drum 'n' bass, and gabba techno. By the time I was old enough to go out clubbing, it was the year 1998, and by that point, hard house and trance had become the in-thing -- back when DJs such as Judge Jules and Paul Oakenfold were hot in demand. Still good days to go out clubbing, though -- the "peace, love, unity and respect" atmosphere was still alive and kicking -- and the White Dove pill had given way to the Mitsubishi. The pills were top notch in them days, fair play!

I was only 10,I brought my first rave anthems tapes the year before.i was already smoking puff I was hooked on the music and the drugs.was listening to old acid house in 88,I use to rob my older brothers tapes sit in my parents car and play them.anyhow carried on listening to rave music of all genres from then on was dealing xtc and lsd in school at 12.not the perfect way to be but enjoyed every minute.up until 2003 was outstanding then I just noticed how everything changed.peoples mentality, manners and egos just made me realise that the younger generation have no taste or any sense of savvy.its all about me,me,me not I'm here I don't look or act perfect but I don't give a fuck,I'm here to rave like mad are you ?.reach for the lasers SAFE AS FUCK.

Samgub- Totally agree and find myself wondering often how in the last 10-20 years music hasn't developed much and is basically the same. When u look at ever single decade up to the 2000's and see each decade has some kind of scene, movement or musical style that u identify that decade with and in most cases is a direct reaction to the musical style's of the previous decade and an eagerness to distance themselves from that style and have their own musical identity. Example: the youth of the 90's purposely distanced themselves from 80's new romantic which is one of the 80's more popular music scene's. The new romantics of the 80's felt the same about 70's punk & disco and 70's music was made by a more disillusioned youth in direct reaction to the 60's belief of free Love, flower power and music's ablity to change the world was shattered but nothing largely different in the last 15 or more years has occured. Kids happily sing along to music from the 90's probably thinking the song is couples years old. There needs to be fresh change in music otherwise music becomes stale. No decade before 2000's would the average teenager hear their parents music and ask them to turn it up but I can see it happening nowadays.
