@@hardcorehardo LOL no it wasn't! Some people said it looked too boring to be a true coupe but it was never considered ugly. BMW and ugly styling only started to become a thing from when they launched the E65 7-Series. Before that, they were almost always attractive cars that people found desirable.

Definetly not, maybe best looking. I agree with her that e46 is little bit boring. I love how it looks but not driving it, i had more fun in e36 and e90 but i hate how e90 looks so i will probably keep it 😂

My dad had a 330ci and my uncle had an s3 lol. As a kid all I can remember is the rev counters on both cars always being on the red line. Also the yellow swade seats in the s3 lol

IMO, as with almost any car, the pre-facelift E46 looks better and more timeless.

I dont agree, allthough a normal mk1 A3 indeed looks a bit outdated the S3 does not. It's a timeless design and allthough the car is almost 20 years old you wouldn't see that on it. The bmw with those ugly taillights, orange sidemarkers and fake wood on the interior makes it look old imo

Love the Mk1 Audi S3. They have more power now but they have lost something in the design over the years. The seats have never been as good as the Recaro's in the Mk1 and the Avus 6 spoke alloys are sweet. Although an RS3 may come out and change my mind!

The very fact that BMW's 328i was pretty standard and wasn't even an M was incredible. To even compete the Audi had to have S badge all over it and shout about how fast it where with the BMW it's just another day in the office

S3 looks beautiful. If I had to choose A3 8L or Golf Mk4, I would rather choose A3. Really comfortable, A3 did a better quality interior than Golf Mk4... No words.

Have you driven or owned both the e46 or e90's? the e90 is better than the e46 in every way I cant say that the generations after the e90 they are any better but I love the e90's. S3 is just cooler in every way though thats why I own that

Both cars were good looking compared to new cars that we are getting I would say these old cars are great, but the bmw just looks way too good and even today these cars just take my eyes off the road when ever I see these specially the m sport or full M3 models just stand out.

I thought Vicky knew about cars, but she is way off the mark here!! I've had both E36 and E46 and they are not as different to drive as she makes out. Actually the extra stability and refinement of the E46 makes it more confident on the road. And as for moaning about the wood trim...pathetic. There is dozens of different trim finish and color combos available! The Golf oops sorry I mean S3 has power but is not in the same class in any other area.

If you think BMW's 6 cylinders are "peice of crap", you know nothing about engines. And, no, I'm not saying the 1.8 20v is a bad engine, it's a great one. Plus, the guy didn't even say anything bad about the engine, he actually praised for its power. You're just butthurt, because that's the only good thing about that car, the engine >_

@@veryperson6011 The engine may well do high milages if looked after - as will most German and Japanese cars of the era. So what? My uncle had a Golf GT TDi which I drove a few times, was ok for what it was but no comparison with an E46 in terms of driving fun or refinement, it felt like driving a van by comparison. And yes, there are idiots who buy BMWs to try and show off but there are just as many if not more doing the same in Audis these days so I don't really see your point.

Simon George it's just a phase said by legendar of motorsport dude :)) when it comes to your opinion it's absolutely true 👍🏻 but if you think that you need a turbo, your car is already required turbo, without turbo, cars can go well too if you don't have too too weak engine. Atmospheric engines sound are dispensable with any type of turbo engines sound.

What isnt noted and its only a quick road test, the test of time is this , Audis are second rate junk, they dont age well and cost a BOMB to keep on the road, BMWs are still around from 30 years ago on the roads Audis are not, and servicing costs on the Audi are freakin scary , cambelts and 4 yes 4 ball joints on each side of the weak front suspension, having worked on BMs and Audis for 30 yrs ...its BMW everytime, (not all BMs are great) with Audi great ones are fleeting and they are old school in almost every department in comparison.
