Your Old Town Big water is what I’m working on doing to my Predator PDL. The only difference is I’m going a bit more minimalist as I started fishing for Northern Snakeheads and don’t need to have nearly as much gear. Your set up is awesome. Just ordered my Bow mounting plate from one objective.

SWEET!!! I'm about to do the same thing on mine. Can you give me some measurements from the hole you drill for the release pedal to the cross bar indent for the PDL drive? I have a killbag up front and want to know how much room I got. Also, what red and green lights were those. link?

How long does the lithium battery for the motor last? Love the set up by the way, thinking about doing this to my bigwater.

Battery last me all day and then some depending on how far I travel. When I went to clear lake I was on the water for 9 hour and traveled over 10 miles and still have 30% left of battery. Appreciate it

Sorry for the old post but did you get much water on the front floor with this setup? What plug is that that you have for the drive hold? I am thinking about a Big Water and I just purchasd a Motor Guide XI3 . Any opinions on do's or don'ts? Thanks

Don’t be sorry! Yes you will get water on your front floor but only if you make a drive plug. I recommend buying the one made by old town. It’s for the predator which is same hull. It’s just a drive plug. It’s deeper so it doesn’t cause water to be turbulent under there. Now I get no water when going. I only get water when I stand up, but it’s very minimal and it drains instantly. I highly recommend the Bigwater, it’s awesome with the xi3

Great video! Starting to do this on a Sportsman PDL120. With the One Objective trolling motor mount, can you run the PDL drive and the trolling motor up at same time? Thinking I’d like both in case trolling motor dies. Would hate to paddle these beasts….

Yes you can, I never have just because the added drag etc. it’s been over a year and I’ve still yet to have it die on me. If you get a 100ah lithium it takes a lot to get it to die. I’ve traveled over 12 miles and 10 hours on the water and still had 30% battery left

There must be a big difference in boats between the 132 and 120. No way drives clear on the 120.

@@bounderguy-1089 sorry I just noticed you said up. Yeah probably not. You would however probably be able to just lift up enough so you don’t bottom out, seems like a hassle though

Did I miss where you keep your paddles? If you don't bring paddles, what's the backup if the trolling motor goes down for some reason? I've been considering adding a trolling motor or torqueedo to the back but pondering if I would still bring the pedal drive. Probably not on small lakes but when fishing big water. Thanks.

I just have my paddle with me. The pedals stay home, I have yet to take the pedals out and the motor at the same time, extra weight and it’s just in the way. So far I’ve been lucky to not have it shut down on me at all, knock on wood

What brand of mount do you have attached to the pull handle of the trolling motor? Is that a factory motorguide piece?

I’m curios how much battery do you have after really pushing around for an 8hr day. I do bass tournaments and have the same set up just waiting to pull the plug on a 100ah lithium but was curios your thoughts on power consumption? Also do you notice any flex in the front with the xi3 on there like with the mount? How does it do in rough water do you take anything over the bow on windy days?

And no, no flex, my kayak handles great in rough water and rarely get water over the bow. And if it does? It drains instantly and I’ve never had water in my hull

You won’t be able to use spot lock if you use a rear motor that’s the reason I went with front mount spot lock motor

I have that exact kayak and want to do that exact install. a couple questions.... what size trolling motor is that? how long is it's shaft? if you had to do it again what would you improve on? thanks... good video Constructive suggestion.... I would have preferred more detail on the build. Less detail about how you keep your rubber worms...etc but that is just me.

55 lb thrust 36” shaft. I wouldn’t change anything I love it. I just did a full walkthrough of everything and I have another video on the install but it’s not very detailed either, I don’t really do videos about this stuff I mainly just fish and film Appreciate the advice

Hey do you think the 54” xi3 would fit? And would it work in the stow position while using the pedals?

@@waterboy5164 it would work but it would be crazy long. I bought the 54” and cut the shaft down. You can buy the kayak length one though and save the headache
