I visited Lijiang 3 years ago and I love this town so much. I can work out by walking around by stone stairs everyday along the sounds of flowing canals. It makes me calm. Lijiang at night is so awesome too.

This is truly breathtaking. Probably closest to the fabled Shangri-La that has been so often mentioned by travellers. The whole picture with the backdrop of the Snow Mountain towering way above the old town is truly awesome. The old town looks clean, well-paved, and little stream running through it gives it a softer touch. Flowers add more colours to the town. I heard that if you venture beyond Lijiang, it will be even more beautiful.

There's a real place called Shangrila. I've seen videos of it in Utube. I nearlx went there. It's wilder tham Lijiang. I think there's a Tibetan matriachal community on Shangrila. It 's the pure land for Buddhists.

I'll be visiting Lijiang in October , this is the third time in ten years , I'll also visit Shangri~la & Meili Snow Mountain , these are some of the most gorgeous places in China !

Lijiang is the worst place I have been to in China, and i have been almost everywhere in China. The historical center is only hotels and restaurants owned by Han people with almost no connection to the minorities who live at the southern fringes of the town. Yunnan has great towns, but Lijiang is not one of them.

wow lucky you. I remembered once saw this beautiful village on TV travel show when I was a kid. The image was so mesmerizing, I still remember vividly that it was a small acient village by small river but I couldn’t remember the village name. At that time, my family was poor so I never thought about travel. Recently, I started to search for all small water village in China and finally found it. Definitely will visit it next year. Just want to share my feeling with a local, maybe overshare a bit :P

Congrats for you excellent video. Lijiang is my favourite small town in China. The nearby Blue Moon Valley is a dreamlike place not to be missed as well as the whole Yunnan province.

Love Lijiang, the picturesque lake, mountains in the background and the unique shops on either side of the stream. I was able to hike the iconic Tiger Leaping Gorge and the Miele Snow mountian separating Yunnan from China. Beautiful part of China to visit.
