Nick is amazing and I have many of his products on my Old Town! The other great thing about the floating prop nut is when you have to untangle line or other crap that can get caught. The floating nut has been a lifesaver. I probably would have lost a few nuts in my time if I did;t have the floating nut.

@@treverwagner 100% bro! Nick is one of the best businessmen I’ve ever worked with. He’s on it! And great point about untangling line, I’ve done that too plenty.

Great tips Jay, now I have to upgrade from my 106 Paddle to 106 PDL. Everything you mentioned looks valid and especially having a repair kit, you never know what you might encounter on the water. Thanks for the info !

Funny, I have pretty much all of those on my PDL120. I do agree with some that if this was better made we wouldn't need these, but I'm also happy that Nick found these shortcomings and made products to compensate for it.

Just thought of something re: the rudder. I would think the best non-flex version would be made out of some sort of hardwood. Certainly more expensive, and I doubt anyone would try to market something like that, but... goodbye flex!

Dang. You beat down the stock rudder like a red headed stepchild. Tell us how you really feel about it. 😂 02:56 ...Even your Apple Watch talking about fishing stuff, mid video. Sorry about Papo, bud. I can't imagine. I've done therapy sessions, there's nothing shameful about it.

Jay thanks for the great informational video so important to help you have an enjoyable time on the water. Jay I am really considering the Nucanoe Unlimited as my first kayak does your vendor Navarro provide product for rigging on that kayak? Also you have the two biggest tournaments coming up soon how is your preparations going to be ready for action and great tournament results. Will you be providing any video content pre-tournament and during the tournament even any post tournament content. Jay thank you for your feedback and sending prayers to you and the teams for a safe time on the water as well as the team success’s. Tight lines brother take care and God bless.

Thanks for watching brother! 💪🏽 Navarre makes plenty of custom gear so I’m sure he can set you up good with anything you need. I’ll be doing video recaps of both events, but I’ll also put up some pre-trip content just going over the plans, what I’m bringing, etc

Hey maybe you can point me in the right direction.. I’m looking for a sit on top kayak that is over 12 ft long. My highest priority is paddling performance. Bonus is being able to stand. With my research I’ve narrowed it down to the crescent lite tackle 2 and the tarpon 120.. am I on the right track? Or is there another kayak that comes to mind?

It’s almost like an advertisement on why to not buy an Old Town PDL because it’s lacking in these areas. Especially how much you dislike the rudder.

@@geoffspakes I dislike the rudder but it’s a $55 fix. The good far outweighs any negatives. There is no perfect kayak.
