I've had my Predator about a month now. I've been out on a couple shallow rivers and preparing for some small lake adventure this weekend. I came here looking for a guide on how the trolling motor mount worked, instead I found this video. Thanks for your overview. It gave me a lot of ideas for equipping my boat. I love running rivers and don't want to over rig my yak so the Scotty's sliding mounts look awesome. Thanks again for a great review.

Billy, thank you for watching. Be sure to get the Old Town motor mount. That thing a rock solid and I trust it to hold. I have hit a few rocks (going slow) but the motor stayed on. Anything else i can help with, get give me a shout.

Great job video, I got mine this weekend in the white camo. I am adding the Raymarine Dragonfly 5 plus fish finder, using the Bass Pro 12v battery. I am using yak attach rail system for convenience. I can't wait to get her out on the water. Thank you for your video post.

How did you mount your Lowrance fish finder? I know Johnson Outdoors made the oldtown to fit the humminbirds since they own them too. Just curious thanks and great video!

Hi Josh, thank you for your kudo's on my vid. To answer your questions: last year I had a Lowrance elite 3 with a skimmer mount. I got it to fit with the Lowrance transducer kit. This year I changed to a Hook 4. The ducer is bigger. I tried to mount it with the same mount and popped (broke) it the first time porting with my new trailer. I ended up using a scotty over the side mount which you can see in my trailer conversion Vid. The down side, It drags a little, so I just keep it up while paddling. Underway with the motor is fine. I am also able to swing it over to the center counsol when on trailer. The benefits, no worries bout hitting rocks with it. No worries porting and loading on the Converted trailer. If you have any other questions, let me know. I will share anything you see on the video. If you are thinking of a fish finder, don't make the mistake I did, although it was really all I could afford after buying my Predator. Here is the tip: Downscan imaging in great to see pictures, but it does not mark fish very well. So sonar or Chrip by lowrance is better to mark fish. I am looking to get the new Hook series, it has both, plus GPS which I don't have with my Mark 4. I really would love to get the Hook 5, but starts at $399. the 4 is $299 and Bass Pro has Hook 4 Navatronics + for $329. A Navatronics card is like $150.00 alone. I have never used a fish finder until last year. I only paid $125 for the color screen Mark 4. Planing to hit more then my home lake this year. Going to NY near Bethel in June, so having GPS, Maps, depth alarm, sonar, trail mark, back track to last spot and DS imaging will be great to learn about new places to fish more quickly.

I got the urban camo, i thought to a fish that may look more like a cloud and be ignored. I was looking at the pirhana max from humminbird or the dragonfly 4 from raymarine on the fish finder. I really appreciate your input on that though save me a lot of time trouble and money. I only have one picture so far of it sitting in the garage, weather took a turn for the worse after i bought it so i haven't been able to get it out on the water yet but looking forward to it on easter sunday.

Jsimon, Thanks for the kudo's! Yea music is important to me too. The mellowest I go is R. Carlos Nakai, who is a Native American Indian composer/musician from AZ. I've used several of his compositions on my videos. I love his music. Other then that I am a Big Jack White Fan. Jacks history is: The White Strips, Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, finally Jack White. Plus, Jack never blocks me from KZbin like some insecure artist do.

Hi Jimmy, The Predator 13 handled very nicely on two very windy days. I was on a Big Pond in Smithfield for My Wild Ride Video. I have not been out far in salt yet. I am confident that it will handle mostly anything in Narraganset Bay. As always need to be smart and not take anything to big across the beam. Check out Ocean State kayak face book. +don carson Hi Don, I have not found that to be the case. I do place the battery directly behind the seat, close to under the motor mount, on the opposite side of the motor. That seems to balance it off. The boat run straight and does not any heal at all. You can see my camera angle is pretty much horizontal of footage underway. I did not adjust tilt on camera at all. Hope that answers your question.
