Picked mine up at ISE Sacramento at a discounted price. Haven't rigged it up nor took it out yet. I am also still waiting for the free Humminbird Helix 5 (Company promotion with purchase of kayak) to come in the mail. Nice review and I can't wait to take it out for some Stripers or Sturgeon fishing.

Yessir, my current model has it right by the seat on slide track mount. On this one could have used side plate closer to seat as well

Is the weight worth it? So heavy for a kayak. Most Kayaks are 90 lbs. with pedals. Was wondering what people think. A buddy of mine bought a Brooklyn Kayak a lot less weight and has electric motor and pedal drive.

I'm sure you don't remember but do you know the size bolts used on the paddle holder? I have the same kayak as you and the instructions say to use 3/4 inch bolts but they don't fit. Any suggestions?

I heard someone say that the PDL is a but unstable because you sit high when peddaling. How do you feel the stability is when peddaling?

I'm looking at buying my first fishing kayak. I'm torn between the Predator PDL and the Topwater PDL. Any suggestions? Most of the lakes I fish are pretty small in size.

The topwater has a surprising amount of room for a smaller kayak. Would suit you fine in the small water and be easier to transport.

Hi, I bought a PDL with a Black Friday sale. Have not equiped it yet. That being said it seems like where the fishfinder is installed is a bit far away? I'm the same height as you 6'3" and would be about the same distance from the fishfinder. What do you think? Thanks!

I don't mind it up there, out of my way lol I can lean up and adjust as needed, could've easily mounted it on the plate closer to me as well.

Jeff very good coverage of the PDL. Question I have for you, you said you were in other pedal kayaks, what made your final decision on the PDL? I have been researching and itching to buy now and in a toss up between the PDL / Hobie PA12 / Coosa FD Any feedback - positive or negative will help.

The hobie was out for me because I wanted a prop drive, the pull tab reverse of the new drive is ok but I wanted instant reverse on a hookset etc... The FD is new since I got into the PDL but the deck space and stability of the PDL seems to be much more substantial. As always I will suggest to go demo as much as possible, but for the money it is hard to beat the PDL.

They are both good at bass fishing and I have learned allot from both of them. I grew up bait fishing and we kept everything. I now catch and release. Great review and video. You get right to the point which is rare. Question: I am a disabled senior and need more grab-hold points. Do you think it is doable to install a Hobie 'H' rail at the Predator's mounting plate sites using mounting rails like you show? The Hobie H rail kits come in 21" and 50.5" lengths.
