Hi Bill, I recently purchased the Sportsman Paddle version in the 106. I loved the detailed review of the paddle only version. Sadly the paddle only versions by Old Town don't get review time like the PDL and Auto Pilot versions do. I LOVE THE PADDLE ONLY VERSION. Like you mentioned they are GREAT for fishing marshes, grass mats and heavy vegetation. That was a primary consideration for me, I'm in Florida and the heavy salad is everywhere.

Awesome. I upgraded from a pelican catch 120 to the old town sportsman 106 so I could still car top it on my Jeep Compass. Love love love it! We mostly do rivers and most of the time don’t even fish - just enjoy the kayaking from it.

Hi Bill , Pretty good review on a nice boat ... Do you feel this would be a good choice for a 300lb guy with minimal gear In regards to capacity / water coming up through the scuppers .

I am thinking about buying one to use in the local small rivers around me. I have been using my AP120 but it just does not move very well under paddle power. Does the difference in hull design between the two make this one more manageable with just a paddle?

Hello Bill how are you doing. I like your kayak man I am interested in buying one. I'm trying to upgrade to something it will hold a big guy. I have 2 question was wondering if you can help me out with. #1. I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE with very fat wide toe that's equally straight across making it for a very very wide foot! Are the foot brace on the kayak pretty wide. I couldn't tell if you have wide foot or not but I'm having problems with my foot staying on the foot brace and I'm looking for a kayak that has a wide foot brace on them. #2. There's no shoe , sock , or boot that's wide enough for my foot because of my foot being so wide. My wife thinks I should get a pair of Crocs like you have for kayaking. Was wondering how big are those and would you recommend them for kayaking. She would like to get me a pair for Christmas. Again great kayak you have and a great video keep up the good work man.
