Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.

I'm glad more and more people are interested in these videos. I'm hoping it'll inspire more people to start fixing things rather than just buying new when an easy enough part to replace or refurb breaks. Too much is thrown away because it's easier to to buy new. So much waste for no reason, not to mention the satisfaction you get when you fix something they're all missing out on. Love the channel and videos mate.

I realize this is an older video, but I had to say you did a great job rebuilding and refinishing this floor jack. I did basically the exact same thing to mine, but powder coated everything but the actual hydraulic jack itself. And that is now the only part that I need to work on since it refuses to jack up the jack. But it will get repaired too. Thumbs Up!

I have one of these exact Eversure jacks(bought it new in the 70s i think) but my concern is not it's cosmetic looks but its hydraulic integrity. Whilst you have done a great job restoring its looks I would pay more attention to it having a complete new set of hydraulic seals. Nevertheless well done.

Fantastic videos!! The end results of your projects are incredible, but more importantly is the process, the organizational skills, the patience (at least on camera!😂🤣), the know-how. This is text book project management stuff! Personally, I would really appreciate a short verbal explanation of what is happening in each video, and why a certain procedure is being applied. On the other hand, maybe your videos are perfect just the way they are recorded. Thanks for sharing your skills!!!

After all the trouble of cleaning, de-greasing and even using bondo to make the frame look great, you ignored the most important part: the cylinder, While you had it apart why didn't you replace all the seals and gaskets inside it? as the title says "old" its the one part that's most likely to fail and that was the best time to clean it out and make it new. And yes, restore your grinder! Seeing the zip tie holding it together was funny...
@lllllsp1d3rlllll5 жыл бұрын
I thought the same I was saying well all is well as long as the pistons in good shape just check it and replace the seal or whatever else that was the most important part of the jack. Its not new what if it fails. Any one using that jack would have a sense of false sequirity couse how it looks now not knowing the piston was never checked.
@samheeddalman5 жыл бұрын
He is not really restoring it, just giving it a paintjob ::P
@MrHBSoftware5 жыл бұрын
@@lllllsp1d3rlllll you are right but nobody should have any sort of sense of security when using a hydraulic lifting device whether its a jack or a crane whatever...thats the reason for the existence of jackstands...and also if you are gonna mess with the cylinder make sure you do it right because the old one still works and will not fail in a short time probably but sometimes new hydraulic seals they are chino-made and they dont last or dotn respect the tolerances quite well so they wear out get jammed etc and cause sudden premature failures..... but i agree when you say this is not a restoration

You put a really nice paint finish on it, my first ever trolley jack was a brand new Halfords 2 ton , and was finished in a kind of lime green hammered enamel, I had for like 25 years from my teens , then did a serious rebuild at around 20 , and painted the main body parts and cylinder in hammerite grey smooth, and all the other parts in hammerite "hammer" black, and it looked excellent, I like you making a point of re-greasing everything while you rebuild. NICE JOB !!!

I always have a problem with paint chipping during reassembly. You always do a beautiful job.
@RRCRestoration5 жыл бұрын
Hi, If you are having a lot of problems with chipping you may need to have a look at the prep work before the final layer is applied if you are making the base too smooth the top coat wont adhere properly and that can cause paint to chip very easily as it hasn't got as good a grip as it should. Thank you for your kind comment.

Interesting that there is a nut and bolt on the plunger, that is different to the lower spec model which has a pivot and circlip. A very nice job done. Obviously you have a very deep understanding of how it all works and don't simply throw it away. I have the baby model of these and unfortunately cannot get the plunger seal anymore as it is a square section o-ring, and of course imperial. I've tried a normal circular section oring and it simply does not work. So my jack will probably have to go for scrap.
