I love seeing history preserved and this is another facet of it. This is history kept alive through effort. Keep it alive. It's worth it.

Old Tucson has a world of memories for me as I was raised in NYC --- on horseback in the middle of New York Harbor on Staten Island because at that time all that was available on TV in the afternoon were Westerns and just about one half mile from my parents house was a huge (about 100 horses) public stable, and the owners had about 3 kids close to my age. Then as I got older not matter where I was there were horses available to me. In Vermont, in London England, in France, and in Scotland, and then here in Arizona. Then here in Arizona I was injured in a car accident and I went to the doctor because I was not progressing as fast at recovery as I wished I went to the doc and said: "I've got a leg and a toothpick! What do I do?" He said; "you're a f----- cowboy! Get on your horse and ride." there is more but I have to go so maybe later. bob

That is so cool. I am from Michigan but would visit my aunt that lived in Tucson, and she always took me there. I went before a burned down, and I don't know what all burned. I was wondering if the saloon set survived or not. The set was used in a lot of movies. I was hoping to find some videos on it.

Hollywood filming would be perfect in Old Bullhead City, AZ. on the Colorado riverbanks. 70+ acres for sale, and views of the casino lights. A sound stage could be built there as well.

What a beautiful place to live in............in Europe they have castles, vineyards, museums, old forests, countless towns, ruins that go back a thousand years. Here in AZ.....well we have this, 9 fake movie set broke down buildings in the middle of the welcoming desert where it is approximately 115 degrees in the summer. I tell you what a life.

Am super excited that Old Tucson is reopening and starting with NightFall no less. ^^ Me and my mom love NightFall, we'd try but not alway's succeed to go to NightFall when possible. Once we did go to what Old Tucson did during December for the holiday's, don't remember the name. We liked it, we had a good time. Our ticket's are bought and we are going to NightFall opening night. ^^

The only thing they managed to accomplish was herding everyone around like a bunch of cattle through a night that proved what it is I now consider to be the newest worst nightmare that has come to Tucson, the "New" Old Tucson. I hardly leave reviews and when I do they are compliments, I take the bad experiences with a grain of salt. Usually, whatever it is beats sitting at home anyways. Excited and happy I was until I got only a couple steps from my vehicle in the parking lot before what looked like a kid holding a flashlight on me took it upon himself to approach my family and sternly tell me that I would definitely not get in with my water bottle that was in its pouch fit to hold only water. I was a bit confused as I have never been denied entry to an establishment, EVER, because of water. When questioned he more rudely than before told me that I could not take my water in. When I reminded him where we live and told him I always have to have my water with me, he gruffly told me that unless I was able to provide a medical reason I basically needed to suck it up or leave. I have had cancer twice and have a permanently dry mouth from chemotherapy and radiation but I don't use it as an excuse for a medical condition so I didn't argue but asked about accessibility to water inside. He quickly reassured me that they have "free water" inside and rushed off. We've been here 5 minutes, off to a great start. I shake it off and reluctantly I put my water back in my car. Upon entry, there was absolutely no clear directive, just a map full of locations that did clarify where you could spend your money through retail, food, and of course gift shop. Next to that section was a tiny section that contained the whole 3 shows they had, along with maybe 6 poorly themed exhibits they had for you to go through. All that was becoming clear to me was that the main part of the town was bustling with shop employees trying to get you inside to spend money on overpriced food, cheap beer, and the water you would go broke trying to wash it all down with. I instantly went to the saloon assuming that it would be the place where I could find my "free water." Boy was I wrong. She was about to refuse when I told her my condition and she reluctantly gave me a small plastic cup with just ice following a lengthy, rudely toned lecture I was given about their absolutely "no free water" policy that had now somehow become my problem. I asked her if I had no money for water, what would I do? She shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the smallest size bottle of water you can buy for $3, that's it. So, when that quickly goes as a 16oz bottle of water usually does in the desert being shared among a family of four, the only option was to then buy another water. Nowhere is it advertised that there is NO option for the water inside and at least give you the courtesy to inform you that you HAVE to come equipped with enough pocket money for water for your family. So now after extremely overpriced tickets, the 2-hour trip there and back, and all the gas SUV guzzled down just to get there and back, I was literally refused something that is not considered a luxury, it's literally a necessity. To top it off, every attraction we went through just got worse, but not just that, so much more confusing. I saw elderly people walking back and forth in this dusty town wandering aimlessly because of the lack of information, signs, or anything that would make any kind of orderly sense. Just a mess of confusion. Navigating through groups of disrespectful rowdy loud, and vulgar teenagers, my family got singled out and my son got stopped by a security guard while eating the ice that was now melting in the bottom of my ice cup, being accused of drinking an alcoholic mixed beverage!? That was the last straw for me. If you have unfortunately already been there then you understand when I say I
