Just got back from the old Tucson studios. It’s a shadow of what it once was. So much has been lost. So mush ☹️

I was there for Nightfall & it's nothing like this and was quite boring. Furthermore, after $70 for 2 tickets, $15 for a hamburger and $30 for a t-shirt, this is my last visit. There was only 3 haunted walk throughs, train ride & carousel and not much else.

I had the pleasure to visit back in 1992. It was great experience to see the familiar western sets seen in so many movies. It looks like much has changed because of the fire. I was up in the mountains overlooking to desert and town. It was an adventure.

I tried so hard to find some of the ranch house's in the Duke's Movie's, for idea's on google searches for my dream ranch houses, It seems like I can't find most of them from "The War Wagon", "Rio Lobo", "Rio Bravo", "El Dorado", & "The Son's of Katie Elder". They're hard to find pictures for referencing, for designing a Log & Adobe style ranch house & barn. I literally feel like all the history in those scenes may be lost in to time, except in the Movie's that they're in. Old Tucson Studios, Pioneertown, Calico Ghost Town, and place's like that bring out the kid in me, by day dreaming about how much I love everything about the old west.

My wife was in McClintock when she was about 9 yo. She was paired up with John Waynes daughter who was about the same age. Both appeared often in the street chase scenes.

@@mikewatkins4385 About half of the original sets not longer exist. What was added back on takes up about 75% of that property and was build full size and simplified for tourism. Not of these new building have any correlation to the original sets, it's just "town". There major focus these days is generalized historical western history and the Halloween event Nightfall...

I lived in Tucson until I was 10, left around 87-88. I have a great picture of my mother and me sitting next to a wooden indian statue. There is a sign in the back with all the nearby locations, Cantina Rio Lobo, High Chaparral etc. I wonder if it is still there. I believe there was a fire at one time. Great memories.

10:49 How did they get the Reno to move like that? Because I'm pretty sure it wasn't running under it's own steam. Also, I think someday they should donate the locomotive to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, seeing the state it's in these days.

I lived in Tucson 4 years and visited Old Tucson many times didn't cost me anything as I knew the guard plus knew the actors then that was in the 70's. Tucson has changed so much through the years. Old Tucson fire was set on fire deliberately. ruled arson, many costumes could not be replaced.

RIP Old Tucson, Run into the ground by county government. Sell it off to private sector with stipulation that it remains the same type of business and watch it flourish.
