Hell yes! She really speak her mind. At the London show, Islington 2019, there was an obnoxious american fan, with a little teddy bear in hand, bothering other fans. Until Saiki told him to pipe it down. Let's say it was a fearsome (and spectacular) sight.

That guy I remember, we at front told him to stop. Also me and probably a few others were not far away of knocking him down. But realizing he was drunk I guess we couldn't do it and left him in his own shame. I bet after the gig he would gotten a piececof mind on the way out. I hope he will never show up again. What an idiot that was to ruin a good evening.
Not painful at all! On the contrary, the pronunciation was easy to understand, even for me, a Japanese who is not very good at listening to English! I look forward to more in this series. Thank you K Michaels-san!

@@franshendrix1404 As a Japanese, I am happy that they value Japanese. It leads to cherishing the heart of Japan. The lyrics have emotions and Japanese culture that can only be expressed in Japanese. In a group of women striking for very different reasons, Saiki is outstanding for her beauty, elegance but above all stage prescence. She has that precious natural gift for dominating the stage merely by being there. Having the audience in her hands from that moment her superb voice and vocal interpretation lead the band to stupendous performances full of delight and emotion. I think Band Maid might have made it without Saiki. but it's doubtful. With her they are undoubtably the finest band in the world. A fine documentary sir. Thank you.
@surfingasongwave2 жыл бұрын
One thing that occurred to me (but I've never heard any of them mention it) - Saiki is the youngest, and she hired into a band with some really excellent musicians. If it had been me, I would have been intimidated by Akane, Misa, and Kanami and felt like I was not really in their league. The experience with her surgery might have made her feel like she actually *IS* integral to the band, and the past few years have made her feel like Band-Maid is *her* band and not just the band she sings for. There is an interview with Saiki and Kobato on VanityMix on August 11, 2022 where Saiki says "We released a video on the 'Day of Maid', this May, where we played together in the studio for the first time in a while, and I thought I hadn’t heard this loud sound for a long time (laughs). After that, we started rehearsing there more and more, and I was like “I love being in the band!”

As an avid interview reader, I didn't learned a thing ... but yet I really enjoyed this great narrative - I was like a kid listening to his father telling him the same story he already heard ten times, before going to sleep. And it will be incredibly usefull for new or recent fans! Your informations about her surgery are correct, but let me add a small medical clarification: Saiki's surgery didn't made her voice better - it only brought it back to normal. All the following improvements are the result of her work (alone and with her coach), dedication and experience.

That was awesome. Saiki has truly grown as a singer and I’m sure she will continue to do so. Her voice is so rich. I hope she is still doing live shows when she’s in her 70s like one of my other favorite Japanese singers, Mieku Kaji. Of course I will have to live to be 110 to hear her then, but it’s important to have goals. Much thanks Ohrenje.
