Can anyone please explain the science behind why watching a man restore a mower is so enjoyable?? Any kid would be happy to have a grandad like that!

Recycle. Why buy new when you can restore the old.

let´s say "inspiration", cause i got one in quite that shape, though not to that extent, but with an oil-problem - it is everywhere, the airfilter is more like an oilfilter. i squeezed it 2 times and the oil just came pouring out like it was supposed to be that way.... poor lawnmower, if i remember correctly, the day my dad bought it, the first massiv error occured, oil in the tank, gas in the oil - i have no fucking clue... but ~8 years later, now with less oil in the airfilter, it ran 4h straight, with smoke at first, but it ran the rust remained though..^^

Wow, that lacquer really makes that mower shine! Enjoyed watching you give this mower a new lease on life. Greetings from the US.

I really love these kind of videos, where people like yourself repairing and restoring old machines, tools and whatnot, so they can be put to good use for several more years. I hate the "Buy and Throw away" mentality that seems to be the preferred way to go nowadays.

You have a great work ethic! It is thrifthy to fix what is broken instead of buying a new one. I hope that Your channel grows to at least 100k subs.

I have restored a lot of these thru the years the same way as you do . It's a hobby and only for my own satisfaction. We can´t earn money on this kind of work and the hourly rate is very low, but there is a good feeling in recycling things, that other people has judged as scrap.

I’m not normally a fan of restoration videos that feature music and/or commentary, however yours are a delight to watch. Your taste in music is eclectic and your commentary both concise and instructive. And it goes without saying that quality of your work is consistently top-notch. Keep it up, mate!

I would llike to say, you can do this to any lawnmower. No mater if its cheap or not. Often the mower only looks ugly but works well. I hate wasting things that work well with a bit of work. Thank you for showing the people how to restorate things, instead of wasting them.

Well done Mart on yet another great mower resto. You really are great with this kind of work.I had a similar type of mower (BTS 430) which the deck rotted despite the fact that I always clean underneath the deck after mowing. It was in worse condition than yours because it had actual holes in it.I took the still working engine from it and scrapped it.I found a mower in the garden of an abandoned house with a totally rotten deck but I dont know if the engine is scrap or not .Still have it might try to see if it will work some day.The fuel tank has holes in it though.

Hey Martin, Its great to see you and talking instead of just music .... I like this format better. So how are you and your family doing ? Is everything ok ? You haven't made as many videos so I was afraid that there may be a problem. You are in our prayers ! I hope that your granddaughter is doing ok and that her health is at least remained. Did you finish your van welding all the gaping holes shut ? I can really see the improvements that you have made since you started fixing the van. Take care Cheers !
