Funny fun fact as a latin random guy El Smosh actually had SUCH A SHITTY FUCKING DUB JESUS CHRIST IT WAS SO HORRIBLE so a lot of fans of a fandubber called Patrick Neluamn from Chile started emailing Smosh to replace the dubs with those he made, so a couple years later, Smosh finally heard their hispanic fans, fired fucking everyone from El Smosh and contract Patrick to do the voices. He removed the baner from the channel and changed everything, he did such an amazing work. Until he was fired out of nowhere, like, he woke up and saw a mail saying "Hey, you're fired, so is your team" and there was nothing he could do. He didn't do anything wrong, just that Smosh wasn't making enough money to keep paying everyone.

Ye, they were getting money like today but back then people didn't make a channel with the goal of making money, they made it as a hobby. People nowadays (not all ofc) make channels with sole purpose of making money. Back then there were channels that would just play a game and record it/ film themselves fucking around with their friends. It was much more natural + there was no drama garbage. Today you can find amazing content which is edited to perfection, but nothing beats a non edited UberHaxornova playtrough or a random Creatures video. Nostalgia also plays a huge part but back then, KZbin was just a much more chill place. Now it's mainstream, but like everything that reaches that level of popularity you can find gems if you look hard enough.

Some would call this… The Golden Era of KZbin. Before the website went completely corporate, favoring big companies, and it was all about monetization and appealing the algorithm. Made worse for the people who want keep doing this as a full time job and having to resort to Patreon to be paid because KZbin is very stingy when it comes to Ad Revenue. Don’t even get me started with the Copyright System, oh boy. Update: Yeah admittedly, looking back on old KZbin as an adult, a lot of it hasn’t really age well. Especially the stuff that involved comedy due to how low quality they looked, how cringe-inducing and dated the jokes are, especially given who was popular at the time, and we now ask ourselves “how the hell did we even like this stuff to begin with?” But, despite that… Seeing how KZbin personalities were then compared to what we have now, it makes you look back on stuff from 2005 to 2009 and even some of the early 2010’s to some extend and appreciate the realness behind it. Now there’s just a filter over everything and you can never see the person behind the videos.

Smosh's man spider and Assasins creed 3 song convinced me to fight my bullies in primary school and I got beaten up so badly I had to go to A&E Edit: I realise the point of man spider is that he got really badly hurt, but I did jujitsu so I was convinced I could do it

Since I'm Mexican I remember watching elSmosh or what the spanish channel is called, but the later videos in that channel got so much better in the dub that actually I preferred to watch it instead from the original channel, I'm glad to be able to see how much Smosh has grown it's almost weird to think this been more than 10 years

Old school smosh was an absolute fever dream and also my childhood

I didn’t even notice the continuous awful guitar strum in the background and now it gives me nightmares.

I so dearly miss 2016/2017 KZbin in particular. Right before the apocalypse. Some of the most creative and funniest content came from that era, as there were close to no restrictions.

It was fun. Making content or watching content has never been as entertaining since.

2005-2013 KZbin is an era on KZbin to probably never be paralleled again. KZbin was an open space with new stars appearing left and right. Arguably, people differ on KZbin's Golden Era and I think there was still good KZbin content extending into 2017, but I think that 2005-2013 KZbin was the best point in KZbin before things went on a decline.

Idk why I feel so inclined to defend smosh even though it’s been YEARS since I’ve even watched them

I grew up on 90s internet and have literally never heard of Smosh so there's that.
