Been watching your older videos on the lettering and been learning a lot. I will say you have always been very responsive to my questions on email. Getting ready to make a sign for friends who have a Food Truck and trying to decide on which lettering offset or Inset He sign will say “Hungry Hiker”
@oldave100 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man, we really appreciate it. I personally like outset a little more than inset depending on the font. But also, if the board is super nice, I want to show that off as much as possible. So, I guess it just depends on what looks best😂😂

Eric I sent you an email of what I was talking about a picture of the cedar board and the lettering I went with. Hope to your advice on how I should proceed on Outset or Inset Thanks

Hey Dave I've got a question for you. What did you do before your laser machines and templates. Would you find templates on the internet or craft store? what was that process like
@oldave1003 жыл бұрын
Back in the 70's & 80's (long before craft stores) we would buy them from a company that cast them out of plastic. The artwork we would use carbon paper. Here's an old video (13 years ago) where I showed the evolution of our artwork layouts long before we got a laser. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYu6Z2NumM2cbMU Hope this helps. The freezer paper only works in Inket printers, not laserjet. Print on the shinny side. Here's a couple videos that may help kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqW6q4Z3rJiketU kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4LdZmSDodNplbc Let me know if you have any other questions, eric@makeawoodsign.com

Thank You for this video, Eric. This is one I'll be incorporating/referencing in the class(es) I teach ... well if the pandemic ever gets under control enough to the point I feel safe when the restrictions are lifted. I also feel confident that the majority of us viewers will find this video beneficial. I like the looks that "Dave's background' technique achieves! That you show at the end of the video! Question: As you showed this technique as an after-thought; Do you recommend doing the deeper background outer edge last (like you did in the video) or first (if you had planned to show this technique)? Does it matter which order the outer edge and texture are done in?
@oldave1003 жыл бұрын
I sent you an email on this too. Great question. I should have said this on the video. I would do the parameter (cloud) first just like normal. Then adjust the depth shallower and do the background. Thank you Bruce...
