Wow! Great idea, guys! Dad would have done this same exact process, Brother! Taking things apart and making them work elsewhere is in our family genes! ❤

@@oldave100 So after watching... I am with Ryan on the cumbersome - but it is an AWESOME IDEA. I am sticking with your fairy lights, as I am not great with electrical things or wiring . I have a loft/attic workshop, where everything is cut off when I leave.. electric supply etc, as I am so fire conscious and my cats like to hang out in the loft. I would never forgive myself if I wired anything up wrong and put my fur babies at risk. what can I say?? I am a woman!!!! 😝

I'm always interested in ways to improve lighting so I'm glad you did this video! I use fairy lights along with the light built into my Dewalt router now. I have eye issues so more light is better. My concerns are the added bulk and weight to the router with 4 AAA batteries. The weight would be minimal but I don't have a lot of arm strength and just using the router for extended periods tires my arms. The other issue is the amount of batteries needed. The Harbor Freight website says they last 3 hours on full charge. Right now I'm working on a bunch of signs so I would probably have to change batteries about every other day. I still might give this a try though!

It's definitely worth a shot. And using rechargeable batteries will save some $$

Thanks Eric. I think I might try it. Ryan… whatever is good for you. Happy 2025 to all of your family!

If the light is too bright, just put a short length of painters tape on a section of the light strip(s).

That's a great idea!

Hi. How do I duplicate the wall behind you? Not the sign, the wall.
@oldave100Күн бұрын
Those are actually just cedar pockets sanded and finished. Then we nailed them to the studs. It's pretty easy

@@oldave100 Thank you. What did you finish it with?
