I'm 56. I watched him as Kojak and loved it. Forty years later I was caring for my Mother and we watched the entire series of them again and love every minute. More though was my forty years in business, I count myself as lucky because in those years I worked for several bosses that were like Kojak. They were tough, took difficult decisions, always stood by their men so long as their men stood by them. It was magic. I think about those days every day. Now I'm thinking about returning to work, yes, aged 56. I must be an ass hole. I bet the modern babied folk couldn';t take being dressed down, sorted out, like I was all those years ago. I know he was Telly Savalas, but to me he'll also always be Theo Kojak. The boss I'd follow through the gates of hell.

This makes me recall that back in the early eighties I was selling framed Asian art door-to-door in Manhattan I got invited in by this middle-aged Chinese lady. She liked the stuff. I asked her about a signed blow-up of she and Telly on her wall, she proudly told me that she was the female lead in an episode of Kojak, called "The Chinatown Murders." Have you seen Telly in "Pretty Maids All in a Row," already almost in his Kojak character, leading a West L.A. High School murder investigation? That was just a couple years prior to the start of "Kojak".
