​@@a_03tm It's not only that. The SEATs from the 90s are already their own models without FIAT cooperation . It's more sad that no racing game ever features any CUPRA model. I don't mean the manufacturer CUPRA, I mean the models by SEAT from 2000-2020.

This really needs the Benz Patent Motor Car (1886) in Gran Turismo 4 for Mercedes-Benz. It doesn't really get any older than that aside from early experimental steam-powered cars from before the internal combustion engine era which I'm not sure have ever been represented in racing games. (Some 20th century steam-powered cars like the Stanley Steamer might have shown up in a game or two but the Stanley Motor Carriage Company wasn't even founded until 1902, around 16 years after the first ICE car.)

6:34 Ahh the childhood memories. My first racing game on which I did put my hands probably ever. Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed on Playstation 1. The cars engine sounds still are a symphony to my heart. 356/914/924/944/968/550A lines were just perfect in terms of that.

I really love 2000s era cars. It was like the peak of analog before cars went the more digital route. Especially cars like the Koenigsegg CC8S, or the first-gen Gallardo and Murcielago, both of which are becoming rarer in games as games now focus on the newer Gallardos and Murcielagos. Even things like the Corvette become fewer, like when games include the top-end ZR1 instead of the Z06. Other cars I see that become rarer are the 2010 Camaro SS, the Challenger SRT8, the Zonda F (and other early models), etc. I just love that era of cars and I'm sad they get pretty neglected nowadays. Heh, anyone else remember/miss the Challenger Concept and Camaro Concept?

I’m noticing less newer games have the Zonda in it. Just various versions of the Huayra or the famous Zonda R. Not that I’m really complaining, just wish more had the Zonda, or even the Utopia. Edit: 6:06 Choro Q mentioned. Also this list definitely needs the Patent Motor Wagen by Mercedes in Gran Turismo 4.

The same happened to the 2004-2006 Gallardo being replaced by the Superllegera version in every modern racing game.

Yea it's kinda sad. I guess the car manufacturers want to market and give out licenses for the newer cars and their versions rather than old models. This in turn makes game devs mostly acquire the never models unless it's something classic/iconic like the Ford GT40, Corvette C2-C6 or Enzo Ferrari and the like.

@@Skumtomten1 Nah, actually the manufaturers give the licenses of both old and new cars, but mostly of racing games only put the modern ones because they think those modern vehicles are more related to the public taste. Forza Horizon its a example of racing game who still bring old vehicles from differents years.

We definitely need to see the Zonda C12 in more racing games. It's my favourite Pagani and it's such a shame that it hasn't been featured recently. The same goes for the OG Murcielago and Gallardo.

Hard to believe Zonca C12 is that old. It's from 1999 and first game I had which include rthe car was TDU from 2006.

¡Great video! 13:16 Small car trivia: I think that it's such a shame that SEATs are a bit underrated, because way before, the first famous SEAT was actually the 600 (sort of a spanish-modified Nuova 500), and it's a really loved car here in Spain. It would be nice if it actually appeared on any game (as this brand rarely appears anywhere, and it's usually the modern VW ones), but it ends up being unloved... Sad

Well, GT uses the year 2000 model. The video only mentioned the year 1999 model. Meaning, Gran Turismo's C12 is a bit newer.

@@KikuraKun Funnily, that’s how I initially approached this topic, only mentioning games featuring the earliest model year, but later, I decided to include all appearances of the exact model, as seen with other cars. However, I forgot to retroactively include the Gran Turismo games for the Zonda, so this is actually a mistake.

i would REALLY like to know how you get your hands on this vast range of racing games. did you emulate these and download the software from the internet? or do you actually own all or some of these and maybe even record the gameplay for them on their respective consoles?

For console-only games it's a mix of emulation and real hardware, depending on how well a game can be emulated, if it can be upscaled in resolution etc. But in general, if a game is still on sale, I get it from official sources, otherwise "secondary sources".

You can still find the older models, but the haven’t made new version. The goal of the roadster was the be the proof of concept for the overall power plant before it the moved to the sedans model that Tesla is mostly known for. The did tease a new roadster a few years ago but the cyber truck has been Tesla’s focus right now.
