This is Daniel Gomez, vocalist for Gothic Slam. First, I want to thank you so much for this review and for getting people to remember our band. Everything was mostly on point. If you have any questions, I would gladly answer them for you. ( From my POV only, I can not speak for others.) I look from time to time and it is always great to see someone bring us up again. Cheers to you and the Ole school scene. Late 80s was the greatest eva for thrash metal..Cheers.

Hey Daniel, thought you might appreciate this story, a few weeks ago I went to do a recording session with an engineer. He was in the process of digitalising a bunch of records for his neighbours and one of them was Killer Instinct. It must have been a first pressing as it was quite old and heavily played. I’m in Australia so your music definitely made its way across the ocean to us. We ended up playing the album during that session in the breaks Anyway I kept thinking about that album so I KZbind it and this video was the first that popped up. You guys really did some awesome stuff with those records. All the best from Aus

Nice to see a series like this resuscitated. I still have yet to own "Killer Instinct" on vinyl, but like you, I have the original pressing of "Just a Face in the Crowd" on the same format.

I first heard Gothic Slam on the Stars on Thrash compilation. Actually I found out a lot of the bands on Bands You Should Know from that compilation like Realm, Paradox and Acrophet.

Thanks for this! I was the guitar player in Gothic Slam. Appreciate the nod to our days way back when. We've all kept playing. Dave made a living out of it. I gave up trying to "make it" a loooong time ago. Lol. I just do it cause I love music and the scene. I'm in a band called The Faulted. Can be heard on Spotify, KZbin, and Apple Music. Also, I may be able to get you that demo we did. It was in 91, not 93. But I think I have a copy. Thanks again!! 🤘🤘

Nice review. Dave Chavarri also played drums on Pro-Pain “S/T” and M.O.D. “Devolution” 🤘🏻

I am liking this band! I'm sure I've seen their second album in various places and just ignored it without realising its greatness. I will definitely pick it up next time....make that both albums.

Just A Face In The Crowd was my next album purchase after seeing Who Died And Made You God video on HB. Have played the album more times than I can remember. It’s a better Thrash album than a shitload of bands that sold more albums. That second album is among my favorites in the Thrash genre and I listen to a lot 🤘
