This reminds me of Christmas's party at my grandma's house. We used to get all together, eat delicious food while listening to joyful music. Here in South America, we celebrate Christmas in summer, so I clearly remember the crickets on a warm night below the stars :). I missed those troubleless times, not worrying about anything in particular. And I miss my Grandma Betty with all my heart ❤ ❤ ❤ PS: Thank you for all the lovely comments. I never had so many likes, and I thought my small reflection would be left unseen. Still amazes me that so many people from so many different countries in the world could relate 💓💓 My grandma Betty was an adorable and incredible person. She was also a strong woman who had to raise her children alone, after the love of her life was killed in a car accident. I was her first grandchild (along with my twin) and she was one of the most lovely and sweet persons I've ever met. Her last birthday, despite already having early stage of dementia, was surrounded by friends, family and lots of love. That's how I like to treasure her in my memories.

Hey friend, don't forget that there were chaos and problems in older times too. You could even argue that there were worse times, with both of the World Wars, The Great Depression, and so on. One big difference is that people would get the news about what was going on as the newspaper arrived, and that was about it. Today, however, we're constantly inundated with tragic news on our phones, bombarded with the weight of the world's tragedy without relent. Take some time, listen to music, put your phone away, and from my experience, take some time to pray. The Lord hears you, and cares. There are still good times to be had today!

Listening to old songs, and they bring me to a past I've never seen, and make me feel nostalgic for times I never lived. It's amazing such a thing, to think that the past is sealed forever, inaccessible. The fact that we can't go back in time beyond memories is immeasurably sad. The society we live in today will never be the same as before, just as the society of the future will never be the same as today. We can no longer access what once was, and our only way to "go back" is through memories and fragments. Really sad. But luckily we can listen to music and feel, even if for a moment, that we are part of simpler times, which will never come back.

There are certain ways to preserve the past and that's what I think traditions are. Some things will change, that's an unavoidable reality about life but some things can remain the same if we try. The past doesn't have to exist like another dimension. A well of lessons, ethics and experience has been tapped into by our ancestors and we would do well to observe and implement them in our daily lives.

This ambience music awakens an intense nostalgic feeling, like something is missing, almost crushing me from the inside, a profound feeling of void or emptiness. This music and video reminds me of my grandma, times when I was kid and we would laugh watching Tom and Jerry, a show we both loved. Eventually she would start losing her eyesight, and those things in which we would bond started fading away as time went by. She passed away this year, and we ended up so distant, sharing a few words here an there and suddenly she wasn't there anymore. The funny or rather tragic thing, is that I cannot even say I would have done things differently, cause I didn't even know how to change things back then, and now that she is gone is the same. But I'm glad of this emptiness, the only reason I feel something is missing is because I knew better, we did share some laughs, and for a moment, as brief as it may have been, we enjoyed part of our lives together, I just wish we shared some more laughs before the end. Thanks if you read all of this 😅, I just felt like writing and sharing a part of me. Hope you have a wonderful life and that you find joy in this little moments of indescribable emotions, because is in these moments that we realize there's so much more to life, a whole world of experiences to be experienced and feelings to be felt.

I lost my grandma at the beginning of September due to cancer and I’m getting all sad again because it reminds me of her. I've listened to quite a few of these before.... but for some reason, this one IS IT. It is just a non-stop string of perfect nostalgia and artificial memories of a time gone-by. I always felt like I was born in the wrong decade. I should have been a teen through the roaring 20's, finding my way in adulthood in the challenging 30's, commanding bravery in the face of tyranny in the 40's, experiencing the golden era as a quinquagenarian, and seeing the birth of modern technology and the turn of the 21st century as a Centenarian. Although there was much strife (and much to lament) about all of the past generations; there is no escaping that I feel that I am most at home when I don a full suit and overcoat, work hard all day, drive home in the open air roadster as a radial-engine plane passes low overhead, and come home to a glass of neat whiskey, a fresh cigarette, and this record playing as I sit back in my reading chair. Yes... this is it. Straight to the Patreon site for me.
@uptoolate27932 жыл бұрын
I loved reading your comment. I suppose it's a matter of perspective but I think of modern technology beginning with electricity, refrigeration, running water and a second rotary phone next to the bed so I don't have to go to the kitchen to answer the phone. God, I'm old. But I can skin a chicken in 20 minutes and cook it on a wood stove for you....

Listening to this has an indescribable feeling for me. It's like becoming homesick for no reason. I want to live there where these vibes are constantly going. Maybe it's some sort of escapism, but old song, nostalgia, peaceful dreamy atmospheres and old movies complete me. Rainy days, a cozy atmosphere at home, watching a movie and drinking my Tea while eating some cookies, cars drive through the rainy streets and the noise comes to my ear. The film 'Gone with the Wind' comes into my mind when I listen to this. I feel that I belong in a different era or epoch, why else would I miss something I did not even. experience ? Christmas was a few days away. I was laying on the floor of the spare room of my grandparents home while my cousins slept in the bed. I could hear the sound of my parents, grandparents and aunt and uncle talking in the other room as music similar to this played. I knew it was special but didn't understand how special. How much I would miss my grandpa and those brief moments before sleep where you could feel the warmth and comfort of your family in those sounds. I miss it so much it hurts.

its amazing that this used to be the primary vibe in music at one time, and now, in a relatively short period of time, it has almost disappeared. this music seems to carry the energy of that generation, and all the people from that generation who were, or are, dear to us. all of their hopes, dreams and lessons. This made me very emotional and question, what am I missing?

I always imagine a smoky bar with very fashionate gentlemen from the 1930s, a jukebox in the corner and a bartender serving bourbon on the rocks, while I sit there and look out into the rainy, gloomy streets, with cobblestone pavement, and old automobiles. While I sometimes miss not living in these times, I'm still glad I can sit here today, and get my fix of 30's emotions by a simple mouse click. Have a good time, you all!

The thing that conks me out when I listen to this in my bed is the subtle nature background sounds of the birds, bugs, and swaying trees. Reminds me of when the summer nights would leave me in my underoos lying next to my window and my eyes catching the slices of white moon pie streaming gently into my room through the branches.
