Also, something to remember about clutch motors, even thou you shut them off, there still "Live' until the motor winds down.

Great advices and sense of humour! 😂😂😂😂😂 Here in Europe, industrial sewing machines come with a guard, that almost everybody removes, so we have to be careful! 😅😅

Happened to me. About 30 years ago. 1993-94. Using my trusty Adler industrial upholstery machine. Needle went through my right middle finger at the cuticle. (Karma for road rage flip-offs?) My automatic response was to pull away, like when you touch a hot stove. The machine continued cycling stitches. Of course. by pulling away I flexed the needle which hit the plate and shattered into fragments. Went to the E.R. They called in a hand surgeon. (Lots of pain medicine.) He worked on me for at least thirty minutes. Had to tourniquet me middle finger for that period of time, X-rays to find the fragmented needle pieces. Out of commission for over a month. I feel it to this day. So take this man's advice and never lose concentration when stitching. Stapled fingers many times.

Wish I could say I've never sewn my finger but alas, I have. The real problem with doing this is the reaction to jerk your hand away and that is bad! I have shot myself with a staple gun multiple times and both the needle and the staple hurt more coming out than going in. Upholstery shear cuts are pretty easy to come by also. Have a good day!

Good video! One thing I’ve had to watch out for, is my heavy leather machines. They have a second foot pedal to raise the foot, instead of a knee lifter. I have to make sure I don’t accidentally hit the go pedal instead of the lift pedal. So my personal rule is, never get in a hurry. Thank you for making these videos. I really enjoy them!

Not quite the same topic but when I was younger I hit my thumb very badly with a hammer and the pressure that built up in my arm had to be relieved . The solution was to pierce my thumb with a red hot needle ( done by a Nurse ) the relief was amazing , and it wasn’t painful ! but the blood shot up about five feet into the air and all over the Nurse’s white starched apron ! .

Twice! Twice I have been bitten! The latest was a one shot through my finger. Previously I took a double stitch through my hand between my thumb and index finger. Both times it was because I inadvertently hooked the toe of my shoe under the front of the foot pedal. Pulling out that tex 70 is not an enjoyable experience!
