I just got my 307 back from dyno after a full rebuild .030 over. It went from 140hp factory to 196hp. Nothing major and I only added a edelbrock 2711 intake and 78 350 Quadrajet since edelbrock carb won't fit that stock number. If you want to use an edelbrock carb use part number 3711

i suggest you spend your money on a big block if you can. this engine was in a -79 delta and it went 100mph really easy, nothing but noise under 2500rpm but then on it is good

@@DARKCHILD1313 an Edelbrock carb will absolutely work with a 2711 intake. I ran an Edelbrock carb on my old 350 with the 2711 for about 30,000 miles before switching to a Holley QuadraJet.

Sounds amazing any advice on how I can get more hp outta my 84 riviera? It’s a 5 liter 307…
The 307 olds the little engine that could as well as a work horse engine give them oil and coolant and they'll live for ever mill them heads down for more compression and give her a gear change anything is better than there 2:14 rear gear the 307 can hold there own if properly built and geared right

i have all the cooling system in that harness, all you need is a cheap stick welder, materials and your imagination
@the-dullahan3 жыл бұрын
You just need to connect it to a fuel source and a battery, and if you plan to run it long enough to get warm, you either need a cooling system, or some guys just run a hose to the inlet side of the water pump.

They can be built to a great amount of power, if you know what you're doing.
@davelowets2 жыл бұрын
@@the-dullahan Not really, but they did run forever. I've seen a HEAVILY modified Olds 307 make 400 H.P., but it had a TON of time and money into it. Not worth it unless you HAVE to use a 307. For the same money into an Olds 350, you'd be miles ahead.

@@davelowets look kid, I get that you know nothing about cars, but how the fuck do you say "nOt rEaLlY" they *can't* be built for power... But then two second later say that they *can* be built for high HP. Pick a lane. Or maybe stay quiet, and listen - you'll learn something.
@davelowets2 жыл бұрын
@@the-dullahan 😆 400 h.p. is NOT "high power" I "know nothing about cars"?? 😂 Just my STREET car alone makes 730h.p. But yea, I dont know anything about cars, especially Oldsmobiles. If YOU think a 307 can be built up to "Great amoumts of power", then it is YOU who knows nothing about cars. If you think that the spindly bottom end, and windowed mains 307 block could possibly withstand any amounts of "Great power", you dont know a whole lot. 😂😭 "I might learn something"?? I highly doubt it. I've probably forgotten more than you know.
@the-dullahan2 жыл бұрын
@@davelowets LOL I never said 400 HP was high. Jesus Christ, my 8.3 litre is more than that and it's officially designated as a low horsepower engine. However, look at the 307 blocks done by Flashcraft for example, which put out 578 HP and 712 HP respevtively. That's a TREMENDOUS amount of power for a 307. Again, you should *REALLY* learn a little about cars before you try to discuss these things. You'll look a little smarter.
