What a really nice neat job, the owner has to be happy with this. I'm flat out restoring my wife's so called restored impala what a mess . Lucky it didn't burn down or kill someone, was so bad I started thinking the car was cursed. But no it's just assholes not doing the work they were paid to do , even the rear main seals were in backwards. I'll get it done but it's one thing after another they really slapped this poor old impala together. Now I just replace everything because its usually stuffed. Dam things really made me like it and I'm a Mopar guy !

Just keeps on going, but end result will be awesome! I get the privelege of fitting cab corners on 04 f250 today. Only 6 hours to get rear doors off and remove the box. Now i can do the work.

Thats the thing people always forget about the work before you can even begin to weld

Hi Rick. I find the Mustang videos extremely interesting. I restored a 1967 Mustang a few years ago and would have liked to have seen your work back then. You are an excellent teacher.

Educating the public on what it takes to install those mint aftermarket panels!

As a mustang panel installer I will also mention this. Some suppliers will sell you a 68 quarter panel when in reality they sent you a 67 panel that hasn't had the grill insert holes stamped in the C scoop area. The shape in the scoop area between the two years is very different and using a profile gauge will show the rear inner edge angle is steeper on a 67. Be aware or you will be disappointed when the 68 panel arrives and it looks all wrong.

I just had a quick look on NPDs web site, and the 67 quarter panel is $129.50. I don't know what you charge an hour labour rate, but it must be a close thing between getting the better panels and just fitting them, and cutting out the vent section welding in the vent section from the old panel and fitting those, neither of which will be an easy task. I'm sure you know better as you're there to see exactly what's needed.
@OldTimeGarage3 жыл бұрын
It takes me a hour and half to do vent area and trust me my rates are the cheapest around 70 a hour taxs in

@@OldTimeGarage Ok just seems a lot of extra work to me. I personally would prefer the better panels. I've a 67 so I'm very interested in watching what you do. Thankfully mine isn't as bad as your one.
