Anne planned to kill her husband with the help of her lover Tommy and after committing the deadly act she ordered Tommy to hit her to make it look as though she had not framed it. Then leaving the crime Tommy felt sickened by the whole episode and questioned himself as to what kind of love could do such a thing. Nothing could stop him nothing on earth could’ve stopped him. There were drums beating in his head as he left the taxi and started down 55th street. The moon was high over Jersey. There was no one outside the building as he entered the service entrance in to the cellar the way they had rehearsed it a hundred times before on paper.
