Originally broadcast on November 21, 1952. The last episode heard on Friday nights [8:30pm(et)]- and the earliest episode to feature a sponsor. This was a "one-time" deal with Chrysler's Plymouth division, who also bought time on NBC's "ALDRICH FAMILY"- also sustained- during this period, primarily to promote their new '53 models, and their"$25,000 contest". Clancey Cassell's final episode as announcer.

People getting married without knowing each other well enough... one thing that hasn't changed all that much since the Old West.

I believe this is the first one I've listened to with organ music. Oh yes, there was a period of organ music for effect Back then we had an organza, a piano that with the flip of a button became an organ, then one day Daddy came home with a tape recorder. It was wild the haunting and horror stories we churned out.

That's a wonderful memory. The organ heard here sounds like a Mighty Wurlitzer.

The only thing that I don't like about old radio shows is the organ music, until this episode, Gunsmoke was free of it, hopefully that won't become a standard, I like the regular theme. Good episode though.

What’s better then roses on your piano? Tulips on your organ.

Poor Jim.🥲 Going into a marriage without first seeing first-hand what’s specifically involved is a no-brainer. We can’t foretell the future, but there are good-fits and bad. …Lila was a fool; it wasn’t Jims’ fault.
