Had to watch again . The scupper plugs have that black rubber on the bottom . It basically opens with water going through it to release water .. but pressure coming from below them keeps the rubber closed or sealed along the bottom . You can pull on them to see how it would work . It's really nice . Like you said works great

That's cool. I did not know Oldtown was making fishing yaks. I have had a 17 foot Oldtown canoe since the late 90s. Very durable.

I bought the Predator XL my first kayak I just started getting into kayak fish and don't ask me what the hell I was waiting for but that boat is the freaking best I really can't do the PDL's because I got bad knees but if I didn't I like them both as well definitely looking forward to spending a lot of time on the lake this year good luck with your fishing 🎣

Just catching this and looking at your kayak setup. I have the same kayak and you mentioned the fish finder and battery to transducer connection was pretty seamless. I have watched others and they are splicing wires and doing fuse boxes and stuff.. Did you use a kit or something for your connections? How hard was it? About to tackle this task for Christmas. Thanks

So im 6'3" 240 and on my friends Predator MX water comes up the scuppers when i stand up. Does water come up through the scuppers or where the pedal drive is when u stand?

Great review. I just got my PDL yesterday. What part or kit did you use to mount your transducer in the scupper hole. I have the same fish finder coming in the mail but the only scupper hole mount kit I can find is for Lowrance and my fish finder is a humminbird

Is that the helix 5 and is it easy to see from that distance im getting a pdl soon and I have a helix 5 that seems like the most convenient spot to mount it just wondering if it's easy to see.

Is the drive really that quiet? I was looking at the Pescador Pilot but, saw some videos about the drive been noisy.

I have no clue about the Pilot. It is the only peddle drive I have not tested. The PDL drive is quiet. As long as you are not peddle to the plastic trying to hall ass than it is quiet.

Pretty good review I would like to know what do you think which is better old town pdl or hobie outback?

Leonardo Lugo I have not spent a lot of time in the Hobie Outback. Reason being is my weight and size. I have taken it out and test peddled it and I will say that it's a pretty fast boat but it is not as stable. I also feel like it does not have the storage room that the PDL has. the turning radius is about the same. and the fact that you can draft in mere inches of water in the Hobie because of the Mirage Drive is pretty cool. my personal opinion is the PDL is better. but again that is just a opinion. I recommend testing both boats and actually getting them out on the water before making your decision. I know that wasn't much but hopefully it helps.
