Every year we try to visit my wife family at Mianyang Shichuan a town 40 minutes HSR from Chengdu… We had visited many places in Yunnan.. from Shangrila to Jinhong Xinxuabanna. Deqin at Tibetan platue , Lijiang, Dali, Tiger leaping Gorge also Shandian… We also love Kunming weather got many nice park beautiful flowers. Stay safe and stay happy

OMG, I'm from Mianyang Sichuan, and actually, so many Hui Muslims live near my hometown, usually in Yanting County...I'm not sure if your wife's family came from that place, though...I'm Han, but whenever I traveled to that county in Mianyang, I would eat in the halal restaurant in my childhood, they cooked really delicious food and so different from Han people's.

@@adansylvestres8080 it is rare to see now as the building cost is expensive, in my place, i can see few, but normally from a wealthy family or having a good family business. In ancient Chinese drama, or k drama, you will see the wealthy family have small houses (some may call as pavillion) in their house. Each small houses has their own bedroom, living room, kitchen, and small compound. The idea is similar,but in the modern age we mostly have limited space, so people improvise the design fit with the needs and what sources (space) they have.
