Soapy is my 5x great grandfather on my moms side. His story lives as each generation of my family continues. My great grand father was one of the last Texas Rangers and told me the stories of his fathers grandfather and it gives me pure goosebumps seeing this. Great video!

Another great podcast, Chris. I tend to forget that Alaska was also the Wild West. I visited Skagway and other AK cities five years ago. Lots of stories! Teresa Franks

Frank Reid’s monument is huge, and reads “He gave his life for the honour of Skagway.” Soapy’s was non-existent when I was last in Skagway. Fun fact - the stone on the grave of a “hurdy -gurdy” girl reads “She gave her honour for the life of Skagway.”
