"You stood beside me when I was out of my mind." and a lot of the first set of lyrics kind of tell how they did bad things but the other person still took care of them. "of an Oleander, white like me." They are the Oleander, the toxic person. But honestly, the rest of the song with the other two singers confuse me.

BobTheGod “you stood by me when i was out of my mind” could be gaslighting too. “i broke the glass and you were there to brush it aside” also could be like i fucked up but you brushed it aside; you forgave my transgression even though it was an accident. “i play with fire” sounds like they could be talking about standing up for themselves too. “white light leaves” could be like representative of the good parts being over and you’re waking up in a dark painful place; realising you’re being abused. the parts about if you leave me it’ll kill me is pretty spot on for long term abusive relationships, since the abuser typically creates and enforces a dependency in the victim until it feels like they’re unable to survive without their abuser.
