How do we identify different oderants, is it a result of different ligand receptors? Different concentrations of ion movements in the neuron? Or differences in neurone firing frequency?
@smriti2205 жыл бұрын
Hii Matty...all oderants are received by group of olfactory receptors which comes under GPCRs n then onwards sent to brain n accordingly brain distinguishes smell based on behavioural and emotional perception.

@@smriti220 thank you, however I'm still curious as to how the brain therefore distinguishes the stimuli
@smriti2205 жыл бұрын
@@mattywoods4313 ooh sad I couldn't help u much. Well in that case u may refer to good journals. I think in distinguishing smells "lateral horn" of brain plays an influential role. U might get it in Google scholar.
